Sisters affected by the current events

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if there were any other sisters out there who were affected by the war going on? My father is overseas, a friend of my family's is over there, my cousin was over there and is now drug trafficing in South America, and my childhood best friend is in the Navy and could get called up. I just wanted to know if any other sisters out there had military ties and were feeling this extra strain like I am.

3 of my chapter sisters are in the Armed Forces. One is currently stationed in Kuwait, one is (I think) in North Korea, and I'm not sure if the other one has been deployed yet. Please keep them in your thoughts!

My best friend that is a guy has been there since January. He is in a tank in the marines, he is actually a reservist, but he will be one of the first ones in over there.

I heard some marines were killed, I have been crying and going crazy so please keep him in your prayers.

My cousin is over there, he just got married and had a baby boy. They let him come home for two days after his son was born so that he could see him in case he doesn't make it back.

I can't stop crying and praying, but I still think we are doing the right thing.
I don't want another Sept. 11.

I have three cousins, including my baby cousin, who have been deployed to the Middle East. When we found out about the servicemen killed yesterday, we stayed by our phones just in case it was bad news. That's how nervous we were.

Last Friday, one of our sisters, Jenny, (a member of the Hawaii Alum Chapter and the Sigma Chapter at U of I), got the call, and her duty as a Navy navigator sent her out by Sunday. I can only imagine what her husband is going through right now. This hit hard because she's one of the AGDs that I am especially closest to.

I know that many of us have family members overseas, so I'll be sure to keep all our loved ones in my prayers.

My ex boyfriend is an Army Lieutenant. He's not infantry, thankfully, and last I heard he was in Texas. We've lost touch since our break-up, but I still worry about him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all our armed forces and their families.

My brother is over there (Air Force). He is starting his 3rd month there. Luckily, he has email while is there. We would email every couple of days-- but I have not heard from him this week. I am just keeping him in my prayers at this point.
He is married and has a little girl--she turned 1 year old at the beginning of March-- poor guy he missed his baby's first bday.

I also have a cousin that is a helicopter pilot, as is my husband's cousin. Also have another cousin in the Army--3rd Infintry (i think).

Please keep all of our troops in your prayers.

I am involved in the SCA and I know of 2 guys I'm friends with from the society that one is in Oman and the other is headed out for S. Korea. They are Air Force & AF reserve.

Another friend of mine (also from the society) is living in S. Korea with her husband who is in the Army. She's been there 1 1/2 years already.

my ex boyfriend is in the air force in california....i haven't heard anything from him about being shipped out, but he was home kind of randomly last week...so i have a feeling that was to see family just in case. two of my sisters are going through basic training right now....one, my last roomie, is currently going through MP AIT in missouri, and the other is finishing up her marine basic training in a little over a month. nicole (the one in the national guard) gets to come home when she graduates, but has a high possibility of being shipped out. sara, the marine, has about 11 days back home before she is stationed in God knows where.....keep them in your prayers. also, i am getting ready to sign with the guard myself on april 11th.....so keep me in your prayers as well in that i sign and all goes well. i want to leave for basic ASAP.

i support our troops, i support president bush, and i am praying for all our service people that they come home soon. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!

liep,
monica

My cousin is in the Navy and is currently fighting the war, and another person I know well is on the front lines with the Marines. It is so hard to watch the news. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of our troops and their families and friends.

I currently have two cousins in the Marines. One is on the front lines in Iraq... Just sent him a care package today.

If anyone is interested in sending him a letter of support, send me a private message and I will give you his address.

Addresses

My father now has an address as well. I really think sending care packages are a good idea (though I know I won't be able to get my chapter to do it...we've spent an awful lot of money out of our own pockets for our Greek Week competitions, so no one really wants to spend money right now). I'm gonna try to petition our Panhel to do it as a combined thing...call it Greek Unity.

Sisters who are touched by this war, know that you and I share an extra special bond. The military is in some ways like a fraternity or sorority...it is a family and to those men and women serving, their unit is often the only family they have. Given this, military brats like myself and others with military ties are a part of this family. We have already lost brothers, though we may not feel the pain of that loss. Opinions on the war may differ, but realize that those soldiers are human beings, are someone's family, and that they need our support and prayers.

LiEP!
God Bless America

You know, "honoring my home, my country" has new meaning to me now.

I don't know your fathers, brothers, cousins, sisters, or friends. But because they all mean so much to you, it affects me too.

I wish that I could send a letter to each and every soldier just to let them know how much I appreciate them and that I'm behind them 100%. They didn't have to go out there to risk their lives just for me, but they did...and there aren't enough words to express my thanks.

I'm not much of a letter writer, but I wanted all of you to know that I keep a list of people I say special prayers for, and your loved ones have all been added. God bless them and keep them safe.
