Thank You Ladies Of Zeta Phi Beta

I would honestly like to take this time out to thank the Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta for being the nicest people I have met in a long time. Yesterday I went to an informational for a Grad chapter and I had been talks with them via email for a long time. And to Finally meet them have have them be as nice in person as they were on the internet just warmed my heart. It made me realize that these are people that I want to be around. These are people that i want to someday call my sisters.

I am a product of the 80's so I grew up on "A Different World" and "School Daze" so being about of a sorority is something I have always wanted . And in doing my research the Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta were the only ones who were nice in answering all my inquiries and made me feel like they want me to be apart of them . So this is just a sincere thank you to you ladies. You are what being in a sorority is all about.

Yes, I was clued to the tube when Different World hit the air waves. Yes, I love School Daze, too. I'm just glad that it is only a movie. That stuff doesn't happen in real life. (fingers cross).

Your exposure to other organizations must have been very limited over the past 10+ years. I have friends in the others 3 orgs. and they are all lovely ladies.

I went to Howard when School Daze and Different World came out, and I can testify much of what you saw did indeed mimic in part my college experience.

As far as Greek life is concerned, I find it interesting that you would mention those shows as being somewhat influential in your interest. Be mindful no organization fully fits a stereotype.

Although across the board many of my Sorors are known to be "down to earth", you will meet just as many that will look at you and say...you are not fly...and MEAN it.

Bring your BEST or please step to the rear.

What I think she meant was that from when she was younger college life and greek life were associated with each other. so as she grew she wanted to go to college and be apart of that life. At least that is what i took from it. I understand because it was like the same thing with me. But as I got older I saw what the orgs were about and I knew I wanted to be apart of it.

To clarify my statments. 24play said it right. Those forms of media are not my reasons for wanting to join. They were presented to me as a youth and at that time that is why I wanted to join because I thought that is what you did when you went to College or at least a Black college. As i am much older I know the REAL reason and I still want to be apart of that.

I was just sending my thanks to these Ladies in particular and letting them know that they have left a lasting impression on me. And whether or not I am invited to become a member I am grateful for their open arms and hospitality
