Red face sisterly social etiquette

Ok, I know this can't just be my chapter...I know everyone must have at least one of these sisters. I'm talking about sisters that just don't know how to act in public. I hate going out with sisters that don't know how to dress appropriately or throw themselves on EVERY guy at the bar, or worse, take them home! If you say anything to these sisters, they get offended but what can you do??? Any suggestions out there because I could sure use them!

We have this great system of RED BUFF and GREEN. If you are out in public and a sister acts up you say RED if she is acting out of control and needs to leave or calm down immediately (like starting to strip or something). You say BUFF when they are acting out of hand or being disrespectful (like talking about a sister while in public or around other greeks) and you say GREEN when whatever they are doing could be interpreted the wrong way by those around and so should stop (for instance if you are out with people and she calls you a personal nickname and it isn't something outsiders would understand). It works really well, keeps sister's in check and let's everyone have a good time without worrying about that "Special sister".Another thing we used to do is walk up to that sister when acting really bad and say "EMILY!" As in Emily Helen Butterfield.... just to say "this isn't something our founders would like".

What wonderful ideas!

I don't know if your chapters have shoulder tapping. It works for us--because if a sister gets shoulder tapped, it's considered a big deal.

Shoulder tapping works well for us because it's better than getting pulled away! A sister knows to calm down if she gets shoulder tapped.

Wink

When we are out and a sister is being obnoxious or out of hand, a sister noticing her behavior says Alpha. And, the other girl says Gamma Delta. We also use that in Chapter when we get noisy. Our president says Alpha and the rest of the chapter says, Gamma Delta as a sign that we are being too noisy.

Maybe "Alpha" "Gamma Delta" is a national thing? We did it also! (It usually took a few times though...we could be pretty loud. )
