Talking

I decided to post where I am "allowed" to post...

I work very hard to look the way that I do, and if that pisses people off, I don't care! I am 5'2" and a very healthy 120 pounds. I have hips, a booty, and a nice chest size. If I wanted to, I could slack off and eat whatever I want. But I KNOW what would happen if I did, and I make the choice to eat healthy and workout almost everyday. Like I said before in the other post, my body is what allows me to do the everyday activities I am able to do. Why not treat it with respect and reward it by being healthy? BTW, I am in no way implying that heavier people are not healthy. Different people carry their weight differently...and that's all I have to say about that!

Anyway, us "skinny girls" shouldn't be ashamed to admit how we look. Some of us can't control it and others of us work our a$$es off literally to look like we do! Summer is coming up and I am ready to wear my bikini at the beach

That other thread is getting outta control. And I avoided posting on this one because it was not really made "for" us. It was made by someone thinking they were proving some kind of point.

But now I just read the latest argument on the other thread, and it really is getting crazy! People have said some downright insulting things to the "non-skinny" girls, and I do not agree with that! I think if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it. I admit, sometimes I THINK some of the things that have been said on there, but I know better than to say it! I think it was a little out of line for people to start saying that being a little overweight is unattractive. In our society, that is true, but it was inappropriate for someone to say that outright on that thread.

And I am insulted too, to flip it to the other side. But I decided to post my frustration here instead of there (where it belongs since it's part of the discussion going on there) but I am sick and tired of getting flamed for voicing my opinions in a thread even when it's on topic. I'm insulted because someone said that a person below 17% body fat cannot function as a woman. Um, yeah... I don't know my exact percentage now, but I do know that a few years ago I was somewhere around 10% and I still had regular periods. Even now, I doubt I'm quite at 17%.

I don't have any problem at all with the way I look, though I admit that I would like to exercise more. But I wanna exercise and keep eating healthy because it's the HEALTHY thing to do, not because I think I need to lose weight or something! I'm 5'6", 120 ibs, and I look good in a bikini (even though I'm lacking in the chest area ). I'm not ashamed of myself for being healthy, and no one should try to make any of us feel bad about being healthy.

Wanna know the thing I was thinking but didn't dare to say cuz it's not so nice? I was thinking, yeah you cry about being overweight, but if you're not exercising and eating healthy then you have no one to blame but yourself. I was especially thinking this after I got yelled at for saying I eat healthy food. I was like WTF????

Anyway, I'm done with my rant now, I think...

Sorry, fat chicking coming through.

This is not a flame. I am not here to to insult anyone for their size. I don't care what size you are. The most important thing is that you are happy an healthy. I just have a comment.

We cry when we're over weight beause it's upsetting. That does not mean that we're sitting on our fat asses shoveling food into our mouths, and then complaining we are overweight. Granted there are some people out there who are like that. But to generalize all overweight people as lazy and stupid and ugly is what is bothering many people on that thread.

I will never be a size for no matter how hard I try. I am a big girl with big bones. The smallest I will ever be able to go (and still be healthy mind you) is about a 10...maybe an 8 if I'm lucky.
However, I excersize - I swim play hockey, go for walks, I try to eat the best that I can. I am also a diabetic. But my diabetes is a cause for weight problems. I am insulin resistant (I still make my own, but not enough to keep me alive). Therefore I have to take huge does of insulin to keep my sugars under control. The more insulin that is in my body, the more it is harder for me to control my weight. So before you start assuming that we're lazy, think about other problems that might be a factor in our weight issues (and just for the record, I have type 1 diabtes not type 2...my weight has nothing to do with me having diabetes).

Again, I'm not here to insult you or anyone. Please don't think that I am. Don't apologize to fat people for being who you are, never apologize for being who you are. Just don't judge us for being overweight.

Growing up, I use to get teased for being underweight. Kids could be really cruel. It was mentioned on another thread that people tease skinny people because they're jealous. Nope. Not when you're under 16. They do it to be mean and it can really screw with your self-esteem just as being called overweight can affect someone's self-esteem.
It took me until college to finally put on weight. I would eat more than most of my guy friends and I was still "5'7" and 98 pounds. During my freshman year, my metabolism slowed down a bit. I am now 120 pounds. It's the first time in my life that I haven't had complete STRANGERS walk up to me and say, "Are you anorexic?" or have older people cluck their tongues and say, "These young girls who starve themselves..." I remember when I was 13 and I was in a department store with my mother when a woman came up to her and said, "Is your daughter ill?" It was so horrible and embarrassing....especially because there was nothing I could do about it.
People come in all different shapes and sizes. Metabolism is genetic. People who are overweight are told to work out and eat healthier but many will still remain overweight. It's not their fault; it's just the way they're made. Same with many underweight people. I think that if people were a little more sensitive they'd realize that many people who look like they have an "unhealthy" body really can't control it.

I think what I said was misunderstood. I have never generalized that everyone who is overweight must be lazy and not eat healthy, because I KNOW that's not true. What I meant was I get annoyed with people who bitch about it but then if you look at their lifestyle it's a really unhealthy one. If you don't "look" healthy, but you're not doing anything to be healthy, you have no one to blame but yourself. For example, a very good friend of my is very overweight, and she never exercises and she never eats healthy food. Now, I have never heard her complain about her weight, but if she did it would probably be hard for me to sympathize when I know she doesn't take care of herself. On the other hand, if you're overweight but try to eat right and exercise... well then props to you. I hope that clarifies what I said

As for diabetes, I think it's weird cuz it runs in my family (and no one on my family is really overweight) but when I mention that to people this is the general response I get: "Well you don't have to worry about it because you're not overweight."
It's like they make the generalization that everyone with diabetes is overweight and that they are diabetic because of their size.

There are two types of diabetes . . . one that is prevalent in overweight people and one has nothing to do with your weight. The second kind might be the kind that runs in your family.

Why aren't people better educated though? Like overweight people are the only ones who get diabetes.

I think the biggest problem is that people just don't know much about their health. A lot of people don't know how much a serving size is, how many calories and how much fat they should be eating, what kind of risks being too fat or too thin puts them at . . . If we did a better job of educating people, this would be much less likely to happen.

So we should feel sorry & sympathize for a girl who diets, exercises, and still complains about her body issues?? Because she's on the right path and her struggles are long and hard and deserves sympathy? Sympathy lies with those who are discriminated against, and blame lies with those who are cruel.

This isn't a rant against, you, SSS, it's just a general snark.

My name is Sarah,
I am a 5'2" 117lbs curvaceous woman.
I wear a bra size larger than a C, I have a butt (it almost evens out!)
I wear around a size 4 sometimes a 6, because I have hips, too!

I exercise to stay healthy, and to get into the habit for the days I can't eat what I want and stay the same.
I don't like my thighs, but I realize I can't really complain.
I think women are beautiful for who they are not what size they wear, though. But don't hate on me because my genetics say I will have no waist and an ass the size of a mack truck.....

I think I know what you're saying. I'm not saying you have to feel sorry for anyone. What I was saying is that I don't generalize that everyone who's overweight is lazy or does not eat healthy. I felt I needed to clarify that because it seemed that someone took what I had said before the wrong way.

I am 5'4" and 116lbs. When my big talked to me while I was rushing she told the whole chapter she thought I was anorexic, so i had that stigma going in. However, I have my fair share of hips and a butt. I have never had to watch my weight and I snack whenever I want to. I personally don't think I know anyone that is fat/overweight. When I tell the women in my chapter that they laugh and me. Apparently since i'm skinny I'm not allowed to have an opinion on anyone's weight. I am just of the opinion that everyone is beautiful, no matter their size. Why is it that i'm apparently not allowed to have those opinions since I have never had a problem with weighing "too much"?

i am 5'3" and 110lbs. I have the perfect chest size (in other people's opinion) and a butt that i think is way too big. i have a high metabolism. i have the makings of tight abs on my stomach but my hips are looking a little wide . i wish i was skinnier, but people tell me dont think that cause i have a nice and full body. i used to own pants the fit really tight on me, but they have turned in to extremely low riders cause i have lost weight. oh well, i am thankful to have this size.
