I'm not sure if anyone knows about Camp Heartland but it is a camp dedicated to children living with HIV/AIDS. I don't know that much about it myself but I am interested in being a camp instructor next summer.
Has anyone ever done this or known anyone who has?
What do you think about a camp like this?
Would you volunteer if you could?
I know a few people where I used to live who did a lot of funding for Camp Heartland. One of my friends worked hter over the summer too in High School, she LOVED it!

I just found out about this Camp this year - our Dance Marathon is donating the proceeds to the camp, and a couple of other orgs on campus have done fundraisers for it.
It sounds like one of the better causes I've heard of in a while.
I don't know anybody who's been a counselor there or anything, but in high school we did tons of fundraising for them (there was actually a student club called Students for Camp Heartland that tons of people I know were involved with) and some campers and counselors did presentations about it here every year, so I got to talk to some of them. It really is a great cause, and from what I saw it seems like a really great environment for everybody involved.
You may want to talk to the Pikes at UW-Whitewater... they do a HUGE fundraiser every year for Camp Heartland, and could probably put you in touch with the right people.
