Oh Lord, It's Back....And It's Brought a Friend

Yes, ladies and gents, "Sorority Life" is back, and "Fraternity Life" is set to make it's debut:

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - It wasn't a surprise that the lives of potential sorority girls proved to be popular with MTV viewers. So much so that the network green lit the companion series "Fraternity Life" as well as "Sorority Life II," both of which will premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

The two series were filmed during the "rush" period for the fall 2002 semester at the University of Buffalo and center on the pledge classes for the Sigma Chi Omega fraternity and Delta Xi Omega sorority. While each is a separate series audiences can expect to see pledges appear on both as they immerse themselves in Greek Life.

Michelle Branch's "You Get Me" returns as the girls' theme song, while the boys' will be represented by "Addicted" by upcoming Montreal punk-pop band Simple Plan.

MTV will introduce the central pledges on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. ET with the special "Meet the Greeks." "Sorority Life II" premieres Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. ET, followed at 10:30 p.m. ET by the debut of "Fraternity Life."

It'll be interesting to see if the fraternity life thing will include nearly as much drama as the sorority. It might turn out to be a little less interesting since there is typically less drama in fraternities.. I'll be watching.

Don't worry, MTV will find drama.

Since I know a lot of it is dramatized, half truthed and fabricated, I think I'll be sitting this version of the Real World out.

This and, well, almost every other reality show on MTV, or even any show on MTV for that matter.

I'll come back when "M"TV starts showing videos again.

Interesting that it should be Sigma Chi Omega Fraternity.

On April 30, 1971, local sorority Sigma Chi Omega became Gamma Tau Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity!! WGa. has Chi Omega Sorority but I don't know if they chartered before or after us.

Yea us!

You know, I thought the same thing about The Bachelorette, but on that show I think that the guy pranks and stuff was so much funnier than the girls' b*tchiness. I'm really looking forward to Fraternity Life!

I just looked on mtv.com and read all about the 2 new series. That website makes them look like slutbags! If you go thru the flipbook (scrapbook), look at the captions. And I'm SO sick of hearing them say Frat boys.... it's fraternity men!

The MTV website for fraternity life makes me cringe. As do the ads MTV is running for both shows...

Basically it looks as though the draw of Fraternity Life will be seeing guys puke, as one of the questions on "life in Buffalo" revolved around as much.
