What makes a good movie?

I think i've read about 10 threads related to movie criticisms within the last month, but nothing the opposite.

What elements make a good movie in your opinion?
Examples?

good writing
decent actors
decent plots
good special effects

It depends on the movie. Every movie (or good movie) should have goals in mind. There is no short list of elements that are necessary to making a good movie -- every movie's purpose is different. A good cast, good script and good special effects can be negated by a bad director and vice-versa.
