SMU Thread

Could someone bring me up to speed about the post that appeared in the "greek Life" forum?

It alludes to a feud between our fraternity and Sigma Phi Epsilon at Southern Methodist, recruitment violations, and fines.

Any history on this?

smu frat feud

I'm a Lamda Chi at SMU. What happen was actually really stupid on the part of one person, a recruitment officer from the Sig EP nationals. So technically you're not supposed to party the nights of rush rounds. But its the loudest unspoken rule to party hard core, its what rush is about, having fun, meeting people, going out and making it nights to remember. The national person told IFC about the party. LCA then got fined and only allowed to give 30 bids. There was a lot of contriveristy because it was silly for one group to be punished for what everyone was doing, and kept doing. Suspision arose because they were rushing the same guys.

Thanks for the clarification, bro. I knew I was only getting half the story, and the other half would probably make me mad. Looks like you guys "took one for the team", so to speak.

Onward and upward...

ZAX,
