Greek Summer Reading
After seeing the other post about the book, Sorority Sisters, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other interesting books where greek life either is the plot of the book, or is worked very heavily into the book. Even non-fiction book suggestion would be great.
Summer school is finished for me. I am looking for some good summer reads.

Lord, I must be a nerd, then, because I enjoy Robert's.
Think of it this way: as a former Parliamentarian of a nationa org, it was WONDERFUL to know how to shut up rude talkers, people who drone on and on over a point, and to make the group stay on track with motions!
I firmly believe in parliamentary procedure: it keeps meetings performed "decently and in order." LOL

I don't know of any sorority books worth reading, but I will say to not bother reading the Sweet Valley Unviersity books on the sororities. I don't think that they are worth the the trees they killed to make the paper.

For summer reading, may I suggest the Harry Potter books, by J.K. Rowling? They are terrific! The fourth book, "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire" comes out on Friday, July 8th!
Try to read the first 3 first, though...they're truly terrific! I can't say enough about how much I love these books!

If you are looking for books related to women and sisterhood you can check out The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I enjoyed it.

Gloriajean:
This morning on the "Today" show, Anne Curry interviewed this little girl who was able to get a copy of this book before the release date. (Her dad knows someone in the bookstore business.) She was more than excited to be the first person to read the book. And I must add that this is some book.... being over 700 hundred pages/37 chapters long. WOW! Great summer reading for kids!
Can you tell me more about these books? I've noticed that they are the latest craze. Even Oprah talks about them. All I know about these books is that Harry Potter is a magician.
The little girl on the "Today" show said that chapter one is scary. However, I don't know what constitutes scary nowadays in childrens books and I'm almost afraid to ask. I often read novels to my son at bedtime - a chapter each night. Having read Harry Potter books before, do you think this book would be suitable for a 5 year old? I noticed that you suggested reading the first three books first. Is this a continuing series where the next book picks up where the last one left off? Feel free to respond via my email address.
Thanks!
