Patriotism
As our Country teeters on the brink of war, it is high time to pay tribute to all of our brothers who either have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Saturday night, I had the honor of toasting Godspeed to 2LT Bill Steinhour, who left at 0600 hrs today for an 18 month tour of Korea. Bill is a brother of Phi Tau Zeta along with myself and Lennox. Oddly enough, it was just 1 week earlier I was toasting Bill and his new wife at their wedding. (Yes, the 2 events were very much related)
Bill is not the first brother of Phi Tau to get the call, nor will he be the last. As an undergrad, I vividly remember having a beer with a brother on a Monday night, to have him pulled out of his class the next morning to go serve during Desert Storm. That was one of the biggest wake up calls in my adult life.
No matter where you stand your moral ground on the subject of war, it is very important during these trying times to show support of SOMETHING. I suggest it be your brothers who have heeded the call to arms.
If you happen to know how to contact a brother serving his country, please post it here, that we may show them support in their cause.

pman, I want to thank you for the fine post from a Brother of P T!
Is there going to be a shooting action, I truely beleive so. The many Men and Women who going to be there are Cicilian Military who will leave Family, Jobs, Friends, and Brothers here to worry about each and everyone of them. Will there be some who do not return, yes there will be.
It will be a lose to All of us, their Brothers/Sisters, Family and just Freinds? Yes it will! My heart is already bleeding for those we may lose.
May God Bless each and everyone of these fine young people who will be Over Their!
May they all come back to us!

Godspeed to a safe return, and duty well done.
As a veteran myself, it is nice to see a post such as this, as opposed to a lot of what I consider to be more anti-American than anti-War in what is going on in many places, like the Army Reserve unit marching in a MLK day parade in Buffalo, NY - they were spit on...
...that they would only realize the men and women in uniform make it possible for them to express their views, no matter how controversial, is the ultimate disrespect: not only to their country, but to themselves and the message they attempt to convey.
