MEET MY FOLKS- the most evil show EVER

Did anyone else see this show? A guy's parents get to pick a female companion for him to go to Europe with from 7 contestants.

I was CTFU from scene one!

High/Lowlights:

* The guy's female best friend mixing with the other girls and pretending to be one of them. THEN when they join the parents, she tells them the most damaging twisted accounts of what the girls said about their son.

*the package containing the girls' dirty little secrets: they basically read aloud the worst things relating to sex that any of them have ever done. THey acknowledge UNTIL one girl denies it completely and then it's just more denail.

*the son and one girl getting to go on a private date: the parents are invited to WATCH. They stop the date when the two start making out and the girl takes off the guy's belt (they didn't know the parents were watching).

*the parents pick three girls to come inside and have dinner with the family. The three who are NOT picked are seated outside the window eating HOTDOGS so that they can watch the three girls and the family dine on real food.

*THe girls go to a theatre to watch a movie. Midway through, it's stopped to show footage of their best friends telling MORE dirty secrets: one girl's 'friend' accuses her friend of being a scam artist who lies to get into amusement parks and get free meals. Another one can cry on cue and used the skill to get out of a shoplifting charge. ANother one's ex-boyfriend comes on to tell the parents that she worked as a string bikini-wearing maid (customers would stick around and watch her clean- how pathetic is THAT). Mom wants to know if the customers just watched

TO paraphrase Librasoul22, NBC is going straight to Hell for this one! Did anyone else catch it?

I didn't see the show tonight, but I did a couple of the epsisodes from a past season... or maybe it was the 'trial run' of the show. It totally cracked me up but I would never wish that onto anyone

My boyfriend and I were totally laughing our asses off at this show. The one thing I couldn't believe though was what a b!tch the mom was... holy crap! "Do I have good fashion sense?" and getting all snotty any time the lie detector test indicated a girl was lying.

The other thing I don't like is that lie detector test. Those girls are nervous as hell about whether or not they're going to say the right thing, so of course it's going to indicate that they're "lying". As much as it indicated that they were lying, I think they were just really nervous.

I think it would be better to just ask the girls the questions and make them look you in the eye. That's far scarier anyway.

I haven't watched, but I feel very, very sad for our society in that something like this would actually make it to tv. How awful!

This, coupled with the fact that I heard that "Kangaroo Jack" was the number one movie in America makes me really wonder about people...

I thought Kangaroo Jack was a fake movie they were promoting on David Letterman last night. Then I hear people discussing it. Then one of my friends admitted to seeing it.

We are going to hell in a handbasket, filled with bad "reality TV" (except the casts of the first 4 Real Worlds, they were tight, and some of those 70s and 80s "family" documentaries) and crappy movies.

I have two comments about the new version of the show.

1.) Where did they dig up all these really skanky girls? There isn't a good one in the whole bunch, I don't think.

2.) Why have they strung out what is going to happen to 3 nights and why are they going to make me wait until Saturday to know what happens? I probably won't even remember it is on Saturday night, so I'll miss it.

Just some thoughts...

I thought the show was stupid the first time it was on. Is it all of a sudden now a bad thing when it's a bunch of girls? now it's mean and evil? It was alright when it was a girls parents and they were picking guys?

Okay first of all...
The son pretty much has no say and it's so lame that they're putting together a show to pick a girl to go to Europe with him...especially since he doesn't really ever get a chance to talk with the girls...with them out and about doing stuff and taking lie detector tests.

Secondly...
THOSE QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! Hi, "Would you like me if I were your father-in-law"? HELLO~ she JUST MET YOUR SON! Do you THINK she's thinking about marriage. My goodness. Ask something relevant!

Finally...
I agree with whoever up there said this show SHOULD NOT be spread out three days! And on a Saturday night?!?! Oh man guys, I can't go out drinkin' tonight - gotta watch the finale of that show! Right. I'm really surprised NBC is doing such a crappy show!
