Either a Lone Star or the Alamo -- anything else just won't do. Hell, I've learned more about Texas history since I became a Mason in Texas! Some of the Masonic traditions in Texas:
On the first Saturday in March, the anniversary of the siege of the Alamo, Texas Masons march in procession from the Scottish Rite Cathedral to the Alamo, where the Grand Master of Masons in Texas lays a wreath to honor the defenders of the shrine of Texas liberty.
The anniversary of the founding of the Grand Lodge of Texas takes place at the Masonic Charter Oak in Brazoria, which still stands to this day.
Every December, San Antonio Masons have a special re-obligation night inside the chapel of the Alamo. (Alamo Lodge #44 originally met in the Long Barracks of the Alamo, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (custodians of the Alamo) allow the Masons to do this every year - the only organization to have their meeting inside the Alamo). Before the lodge is closed, the brethren link hands and circle the altar inside the chapel and all recite the Texas Master Mason obligation, reaffirming their vows to the fraternity.
