Girl - - Go get that $$$!!! Applying for a scholarship via a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha does not in any way "pre-qualify" or "guarantee" you for membership into the sorority. I suggest that you go ahead and apply for the scholarship. If anyone asks whether or not you're interested in membership - be real....say "I'm just applying for the scholarship at this time....I haven't determined my interest in membership into this or any other greek letter organization. Quite frankly..you don't even have to say that!

Also, our EAF scholarship deadline is approaching pretty soon. If you are white, black, red, blue, green or pink (member or non-member/ interest or non-interest/ male or female)you may apply. Check out our national website for more information.

I had the opportunity to review/score a few of the applicants from last year's group. We saw names from Timmy to Tuan.

No problemo. The post was a general post since you all were discussing scholarships. I just thought I'd put that information out there.

Frankly, I don't know what you want "us" to say/type.

I don't know what these people will think. We don't know these people.

You need to do what's best for you AT this moment.

Keep this in mind: Whatever organization you are interested in ISN'T leaving. It's been here for so many years, I'm sure it will be here for many more years.

With a shot at the scholarship, you'd be well-served to take it.

We all know too many folks who didn't take their shot--don't let yourself be one of those who wonder what if....

If you 'think' that they 'think' you are interested...then tell them you are not.....

Maybe you are mistaking their kindness as something us.......If they ask me, I would just tell them.

People thought I wanted to be a Delta because my sister was one. When they asked I politely told them no, I'm not interested in any organization...just my education.

Innocence - Congratulations on being awarded the scholarship. Your exemplary academic achievement is to be praised. Continue to focus on your EDUCATION and don't get caught up in all the other "stuff". Believe me, the other "stuff" all comes in due time.

My Soror, Happydays, offered a great response to you. If "ASKED", I would kindly let them know that you are just a Freshman...concentrating on your academics right now and learning about all of the different organizations and clubs on campus. You should also tell them that you have made no definitive plans as far as your interest in any particular organization, but plan to continue to attend programs of interest to you.
