Lightbulb Recruitment Shirt Idea 4 U!

For our Recruitment, we bought long sleeve solid shirts in different colors (colors that each girl preffered) and we used puffy paint to outline the greek letters for "Theta Phi Alpha". Then we took little jewels and stuck them on there. Let it dry for a couple of days for secure gluing and then you can wear them! They don't come off in the wash. The jewels were bought at a craft store for a little over $2 and the paint for $.77. So basically our recruitment shirts cost us $12!.. saving us a ton.. and we look awesome!!

Our Recruitment quote: "Individually unique, Together Complete." Which symbolizes the different colors, but with the same design.

Another type of shirt that this design would look cute on is on a baseball type shirt. Like pink body with navy quarter sleeves.

I love the idea of homemade shirts (especially b/c buying letters is so expensive!)... but you have to be careful that they don't come across as tacky, and that the sisters with not so great skills at crafty things get someone else to do theirs It's a nice idea, I just don't see them fitting in at the campus I came from (Pitt)...
My first reaction when I read the description was a flash back to the 80's when in elementary school we would buy canvas Keds and decorate them with puffy paint, and shirts that people would do as well.

I'd love to see a picture of what they look like, out of curiousity.

i dont know much about greek life at IUP, but i'm glad they turned out well!

Wink

We're not using puffy paint for our letters.. It's to use them as glue for the little jewels.. So when they dry, you dont see the puffy paint..maybe only a little bit.. but the paint we used is rainbow color.. so basically, our letters are in jewels & the rainbow paint is like a slight outline of the jewels... and yes, that may seem like an 80's flashback for you, but it's from.. as of some of the girls not being crafty.. some are aware of it and have asked others who are crafty.. and you can also print out a pattern from the computer and trace it.. but trust me, i would never dare let the girls wear something hideous! ONLY THE BEST WEAR THE BEST!
