Recruitment Ideas
I was curious on how people recruit there girls/or boys. Our chapter is very small about 10-12 girls. And we really need some ideas on how to get our name out there, and have other girls aware of our presence. We don't have a house...so doing indoor type activities is kindof limited, we've gone bowling, out to eat, to a coffeeshop, and done sisterhood suppers. Any other ideas? that would be GREAT! Thank you!

Are you an NPC org? That would throw out most of our [fraternities'] tactics.

Yes, we are an NPC sorority. What do you do, that's NPC sororities can't? I'm open to anything-other than keggers of course-and anything related to alcohol-that's a no no
Thanks for the reply!

An example... for us, Summer (and even before that) recruitment is of HUGE importance. We have most of our candidate class lined up and orally committed (non-binding) before formal recruitment even gets underway.
It's mostly informal events and get togethers that make it work for us. Our school is making the transition from being a commuter school to being residential. Many incoming freshman have not and would not consider rushing at least until their old HS friends come back and tell them how great it is, etc.

I cannot find this...
in the NPC listings. Isn't this a national Lutheran/Christian religious sorority? I don't believe it is part of NPC.
Just curious.

Marie, Phi Beta Chi may be part of their school's NPC and therefore required to follow NPC rush rules, etc., even though they are not a nationally-affiliated NPC sorority. I'm assuming this is the case.

Yes, Phi Beta Chi is a Luthern based sorority. As far as I know we are only nationally recognized on campus. I'm not sure, but how it works, i should get my a.m. manual and check it out.

They are national, just not part of NPC, though they may be on their campus.

can you ladies reserve rooms on-campus? are you allowed to get we call them craft rooms, but just a room where you can always meet?
in the winter, do snow stuff.
invite them to do philanthropy with you,
to get your name out, sponsor some speakers/activites (with another org too ) wear your letters, do random propaganda

We actually hold our meetings in our church. It is very kind of them to do that for us. We've gone ice skating before. But winter this year has been so crappy. But sledding would be lots of fun. I wear my letters all the time. I'm not sure what would sponsor...and where it would be held. Since we are small our budget is limiting. Great ideas though. Thank you!
