Post Travelling for DZ

Hi Everyone!
I just found this site and it's amazing! I've really enjoyed seeing what everyone has posted.
My question for you all is this: I am starting to think that I might like to travel as a consultant for DZ before I go to law school (I'm starting my last year of undergrad this fall). Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share or advice on the subject?
Looking forward to hearing your what you have to say!
Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I just spent some time with the chapter consultant who is visiting UGA right now. This is her first year, and she likes it so far (of course, UGA is the first campus she's been to at this point). All of the consultants that I've met through the years really enjoyed their work. I know that you can only be a consultant for 2 years, but other than that I'm not sure what other requirements there are.

The consultants I've spoken with enjoy the travel, but don't really like living out of a suitcase all the time. They all seem to agree that the work is fast-paced and can wear you down considerably. However, they all love the job and think it is a great opportunity to help out DZ. So, I guess there are pros and cons, just like with any other job.

If you're interested, I say go for it! Good luck, and keep us updated!

Love in DZ,
Carrie

My grand-big (and best friend in the whole world) was one of the finalists to interview for chapter consultant at National Headquarters last spring. She had some reservations about pretty much living out of suitcase, but she just was pumped about the idea of getting to help out other DZ's and stuff. She ended up not getting picked, but she made it to the final interview, so she probably has some great advice and insight. If you want, you can e-mail me and I will give you her e-mail address. I know she would love to help!
