John Odesas because they are family names.
My grandfather's name was Odesas John, and his father's name was John Odesas. They broke the chain with my dad, his middle name is George, but they decided to start it up again with me. My mom wanted to name me Nicholas Alexander, which i think is a lot cooler than my name.
Kitso
KS 361 times i've told people that it's Odesas, short for Odysseus, not like Odessa

I was named Kiran b/c in Hindi (my mom is from India) it literally means sunshine and I was born on the first sunny day in April of 1983, so that's why she chose that. She didn't have anything picked out though until after she had me.
My middle name is Laila, but I don't know the meaning behind that...it's pronounced Lila though, not Layla!

Hey!!! I'm Sandy too!!!
As cheesy as it sounds, the story behind Sandy is...that I was conceived after my parents watched "Grease." Sad, isn't it?
Grace is my first middle name--I was named after an aunt.
Rosa Maria are from my grandmothers. Rosa after my paternal grandmother, and Maria from my maternal.
Kalikolehua means "the blossom of the Lehua flower." The Lehua is Madame Pele's flower, and being that my father's family is from the Big Island, my aunt [who gave me that name] wanted me to have it.
Sachie in Japanese means "happy child." My grandmother insisted that I have a Japanese name, and hopefully I've lived up to that name.
Gamatero is my mom's family name, and it's custom to carry it in most Filipino families.
You can imagine how long my name is on my birth certificate...and it was a bitch trying to fit all those names on forms and isht!!!

My parents named me Elizabeth because it was the only one they could agree on, they wanted me to have a name that sounded professional, and they wanted me to have options for nicknames. Boring, I know.
But on a more exciting note, my dad works with a woman named after her dad. They named her Ralphette. Tragic, isn't it?

There has to be a thread just like this around here somewhere, I think I've posted in it before. Oh well ....
My mom was the cheerleading coach at our local high school, and she says that I was named for one of her cheerleaders that my dad thought was cute. My dad says that's not true... he says they chose my name after seeing it on an ID bracelet in a jewelry catalog. (oh yeah, my name is Leigh Anne)
Either way, not a very impressive way to get a name... but it's way better than Ralphette. That's just wrong.

I actually never asked why they picked "Amy", probably because it was only ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR AND COMMON NAMES EVER!!!! LOL, yes I hate having such a commonplace name. I got my middle name, LaBelle, from my grandma- - it was hers.
Just a cool name that I love - - one of my roommate's, her full name is Alexandria Britannia Diann Williams... I love it. I forget the reasoning behind it, it's all like British stuff and her dad's last name and her mom's name and stuff...I'm not sure.... But I love it!

My parents named me Allison. I was suppost to be named Anna Marie but my mom saw "Allison" on baby wrapping paper (one that had a whole bunch of names on it). She liked it better than Anna Marie. She kept the Marie as my middle name.
