Artists and actors----over here!!!
We got the band peeps to the left and we got the jocks and cheerleaders to the right.
Those who were in visual and/or performing arts in high school, step up!

i was in the band, but theatre was my passion...if it was not for my parents threatening not to pay for college, i would have been a theatre major. i can list every character i played and show...even a special memory from each one.
my theatre memories are the most special to me. it's a part of me that will always be...i still have dreams that a producer will stop me on campus and say "you should be in pictures...."
my high school was small, and we did not have a proper theatre...it was more like a hole in the gym wall...lol.
i remember when i was in my first shows...i wasn't even in high school yet. there was a summer theatre program where high school students, and some middle school students, would put on a full scale production. i loved being a part of those summer productions...i learned so much about acting. all the high school kids would coach me, and help me to develop my character. i even learned how to build sets...lol.
MOTRONI---you are the best director!! i will miss you always bud!!!

NOT TO BRAG... But I have so many medals from competitons (drama, singing, readings) I made a charm bracelet! I held the leads in all but one of the school's plays-musicals and drama. PLUS I cheered and held offices in STUCO.
You guys have it sooooo much harder now. With parents starting their kids in activities at age 3, sports training going year round and each activity being so involved, its difficult if not impossible to try your hand in a variety of areas. This is a great loss for our youth.
I really wish we could go back to a time when activities had a begining AND an end! I have no doubt that many (if not most) of you have talents that are hidden away, yet you may never get the opportunity to explore them. This is tragic.

I actually went to The Youth Performing Arts High School (called YPAS for short) It was a ball! I went there when Nicole Scherzinger (from Eden's crush) was there. It was a lot like FAME- we took dance, theater, and vocal (there were other fields) and then went to the top academic high school for our core classes (math, science).
It was fun, but a lot of hard work.

I was a jock and an artist! I've been dancing since I was 7, and it was my major in college. And I still do it now. I was also in the musical my senior year. And I sang in my church choir.

Besides soccer and pep club, I spent a lot of time in art club/class doing ceramics, painting, drawing, and photography. I've had several works displayed. I also did drama early on, but I dropped it to dedicate more time to soccer.

Not in high school, but I'm really into theatre now. I didn't go on stage until about 1987, but I had always wanted to. I was afraid that this little chubby girl would not be wanted. I started out in a club variety show, and I was hooked! Since then I have been in many community theatre productions. I'm now taking a break after doing 4 shows in a row: Annie, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Arsenic and Old Lace, It's a Wonderful Life.
