How Old Are the Nationals AT YOUR SCHOOL?
With Kappa Sig being kicked out, I realized that they're the 2nd oldest National fraternity at SDSU, so I was thinking:
What I mean is, what year did the first National GLOs come to your school?
I forget the dates, but the first three National Fraternities at San Diego State are Theta Chi, then Kappa Sigma, then in 1948, Delta Sigma Phi

These are the years the current nationals came on campus at Thiel College:
Fraternities
Sigma Phi Epsilon- 1948
Alpha Chi Rho- 1958
Kappa Sigma- 1996
Delta Sigma Phi- got their charter back this past spring
Sororities
Chi Omega- 1950
Sigma Kappa- 1954
Alpha Xi Delta- 1959
Zeta Tau Alpha- 1964
I don't know about the previous nationals that lost their charters... I only have info on the ones currently on campus!

1st fraternity: Sigma Phi Epsilon- begun as local Phi Delta Sigma in 1965, installed as Sig Ep in 1973
1st sorority: Delta Zeta- installed March 1975
All greek organizations began as off-campus org's. Women were not admitted to the University until 1963. Fraternities, as members of IFC were recognized by the University as student social orgs. in 1985. Sororities became recognized in 1990.

I have no idea about the fraternities at my school, except that many of them are well over 100 years old.
Sororities:
Alpha Phi - 1984
Alpha Chi Omega - 1986
Sigma Kappa - 1988
Kappa Alpha Theta - 1991
Alpha Epsilon Phi - 1995 (originally a local sorority founded in 1993)

Aloha Gamma Delta was chartered April 1971. DDD, Phi Mu, XO, and KD probably were about the same time. AXiD was about 10 years ago.
The Fraternities probaby were chartered around the same time as the sororities, but some of them have been recharted at least once.
AGD was a local sorority first, not sure about the others.

I think the oldest fraternity at UCF is either Kappa Sig or SAE. I think their founding dates are 1968. Not 100%.
As for sororities, ZTA was first in 1971. I think Tri-Delta, ADPi, KD, DG, and Pi Phi followed a few years after. AZD was founded in the 80's or early 90's. ChiO colonized in 1998. Theta just recently colonized in the fall of 2000. KKG will be here this fall.

First fraternity founded at ECU was Phi Sigma Pi in 1929. Mine, Alpha Phi Omega, was second on campus in 1953, then came Kappa Sigma in 1956.
The first sorority was Sigma Sigma Sigma. Not too sure on tne year, though.

The oldest sorority at Clarion is DZ, except when they started they were Theta Sigma Epsilon (I believe) which merged with DZ. Tri-Sigma is 3 years younger and they have been Tri-Sigma the whole time.
The oldest fraternity is Sigma Tau Gamma and the oldest continuous fraternity is Theta Chi.
