Bid Day theme ideas!

Hey girls!! Every year for Bid Day we choose a theme and when the new girls show up we hand out things that go with the theme. For example, this past year it was a "Luau" theme and we gave the new girls lei's (spelling?). The year before was a "Marilyn Monroe" theme and we got fake pearl necklaces and feather boas. Anyway...I'm trying to help come up with a good theme for this coming year. The Exec wants a "Cowgirl" theme with orange and blue cowboy hats (UF's school colors) and I think this theme is awful!! So...I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies have any good suggestions so I could offer them to Exec. I'm also the t-shirt chair and I need a Bid Day shirt idea to go with the theme. Any suggestions are welcome!! Thanks girls

The most important thing to learn when working with a group is that once a decision has been agreed upon by the majority, you should work with what you have. There is plenty you can do with the idea presented-- a Tex-Mex cookout, Wild Wild West Theme, letters stitched onto cowboy hats in Gators colors, etc. Brainstorm with your teams and your adviser to get started.

Having a Cowgirl theme doesn't have quite the "oomph" that a Marilyn Monroe one might, but there is a LOT you can do with it!!
Just some ideas:

*White Bid Day t-shirts with ADP in bandana cloth, maybe with "Only the Best get Lassoed by ADPi!" on the back

*Lots of denim & bandana

*Cowboy hats

*Sheriff badges

*BBQ

*Make a "jail" and take photos of all the New Members OR have sisters use wooden nickels or such to get another one out of jail

I would think there are TONS of suggestions on the net!

Search www.party411 for some party theme ideas.

One year I had a bid day party planned out that was like a picnic theme. Red gingham tablecloths, big picnic baskets, etc. That might work into the cowboy color scheme if you used bandanas for napkins, etc. I'm not sure if BBQ is really popular in Florida, but here in th south we eat it all the time- what's a party without BBQ?

BTW, I have seen the CUTEST mylar lion balloons on the internet when searching for party decorations!

Good luck!

GU had a kind of western theme a couple of years back.. the Bid Day shirts were really cute!

It consisted of a Tabasco sauce modified logo.

I'll see if I can find my digital camera to take a pic.
