Big Brother
Did anyone check out Big Brother on CBS tonight. Well let me tell you if you didn't already know, the brother was the first to go! The only black guy on the show was eliminated by America. I know that some of you probably won't take it to heart like I have, but if you watched the show, you saw that the brother was the only person keeping it real. When I say real, I mean REAL. Although he bothered people from time to time, his method of dealing with people from different walks of life was interesting. I don't know about you all or yawl, but I'm very dissapointed in the outcome.

Good afternoon brothers of A Phi A. I rarely post on other fraternities boards, but the topic is one of great interest and one that has implications for all of us as African American men.
While I didn't agree with everything that the brother did, and I damn sure don't agree with his views with regard to Khalid Mohammad, one has to look at the fact that America still fears African American men. When we are not docile, and cater to thier needs and wants, and visions about how we should conduct ourselves, we are seen as trouble makers, and often find ourselves outside of the mainstream. That is basically what happened on the show last night. He was cast out becuase of his inability to toe the line that white people feel that we should.
Although I think that he was purposefully rude on a few occasions, it was Americas fear of a strong black man, that was his undoing last night.
Peace be unto you brothers

Frat,
Sorry I did not read your post prior to my posting. I don't watch much tv but these type of shows are the conversation of choice.

Whats up Frat, I just wanted to say that I watch the show and I am sorry that the people on Big Brother did not understand Mega ... they did not have to agree with him, but they did not even give him a chance. He was the only one speaking his piece and keeping it real but I guess if you are trying to win a million quick then maybe you should keep quite ... I don't know what do you all think about the GET RICH QUICK TV SHOWS AND GAME SHOWS NOW-A-DAYS?

I feel you on that but if you watch the show lately, check out how everyone is now conspiring to get rid of all the people who said that Mega was justified in his right for free speech.

I gotta check it out ... as soon as I get a minute I am going to respond to the Professor's thread on these Survival shows - I watch them all that includes MTV's 'Road rules' and 'Real World' and PBS's 'The 1900 House'. Check you later.
ADDED:Not sure what area you are in but what time does the show come on - I hear that it comes on daily, but I only catch it at 8 on fridays (I'm on eastern standard time)

I miss Will so much. The show is so boring without him. Will was the only one who brought any excitement to the house (i.e. the challenge he made up). I do understand why they kicked him off, though. He refused to wear a mask and as we all know, "they" can't handle a rebel.
