Joy Behar vs. Canada

Did anyone watch The View yesterday? I don't normally watch the show but I chanel surfing and I came across The View and on the set they had a Canadian flag hanging. Then there were several segments throughout the show with Joy "playing" hockey and serving up traditional Canadian cuisine, ie. Canadian Bacon. Apparently Joy has a feud with Canada and since I don't watch the show regularly I was wondering if anyone knows why. I was just curious because it was amusing.

The only reason why I know the answer to this question is that there is nothing else on here at 11 am. Apparently, The View (especially Joy) has made some comments about Canada that have not been very PC. So, yesterday was "be nice to Canada" day. I didn't catch the entire show. But from what I did catch, it didn't sound like Joy succeeded to well.

Ahhh...I see, no I don't think she did a very good job, but as a Canadian I got a bit of a laugh out her. She really did make an idiot of herself.

I think ppl on both sides of the border have been saying a lot of non PC things about each other over the past few months...
sure i don't want anyone to say Canada sucks, but that's their opinion if they do....

At least it was an attempt at making up...but as a Canadian, I've never played hockey, only once ever skated...and my idea of Canadian cuisine is tarte a sucre not canadian bacon

My college French is tres rusty. What is a tarte a sucre? Sugar tart? Now, THAT sounds like something worth checking out Description, please?

Thanks!

Tracy (Joy's sorority sister who rather likes Canada )

tarte a sucre is sugar pie...usually made with maple syrup, the filling is very creamy, a golden brown colour...and super sweet. It is most popular in Quebec, but some of us non-quebecois also like to endulge ourselves....
Sugar Pie

Although there are many variations...for instance, some add nuts, like pecans...

I couldn't care less what this dumb bitch has to say. But, if you're going to shoot your mouth off don't put on a bullshit facade like 'i love canada' to curry favour. Stupid cow.

I can't believe that show is still on the air. I used to watch it once in a while when I was home when it was on, but it just got to be too stupid to even watch for a second. It's all Meredith Viera talking about her kids, Joy Behar talking about how funny she is and Star Jones talking about how she's such a diva and fur coats and how she hates animals. Eeeech.

I hate that show. They are not funny, and completely ignorant about so many things and they shoot their mouths off like they are experts. I only watched bits of this one because as I was channel surfing I saw the Canadian flag, and I was like what's up? It was slightly amusing, but I still don't like the show. I'm surprised at Barbara Walters, I thought she had more class than that.

I actually like "The View", but I dislike each hostess individually. I guess, like in math, multiply negatives by each other, it makes a positive.
