Where are you from?

Since TKE is the largest fraternity in the world and we span across the entire continent, i thought it would be cool if all the tekes and friends of tekes on this board posted something about where they goto school.

I am going to school at Carleton University in Ottawa Ontario. Ottawa is the capital of Canada and has about 1 000 000 people living here. It is the coldest capital city in the world (on average) even colder than Moscow, and on average recieves more than 2 meters of snow a year (about 7 feet). Ottawa is 5 hours by road from Toronto and 2 hours from Montreal.

I go to The University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama and am an active member of the Nu-Mu Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Mobile, statistically, receives more rainfall each year than any other city in the United States. It is easily assumed that Seattle holds that honor, if you want to call it that, but as my Geology teacher (who is also a TKE, Glen Sebastian) said, Seattle recieves lots of rain, but it's light rain. When it rains in Mobile, IT RAINS! Hard, and for a day or two, then it stops for a week or so, then it rains again.

I like rain, so it doesn't bother me.

Well, I'm an Alpha Phi, but I am very good friends with the men of the Omicron Nu chapter at Florida Tech. My boyfriend is acting Prytanis right now but in a few weeks he'll be Cryso (which he is definitely relieved about!).

Florida Tech is in Melbourne, FL, which is located 40 miles south of Kennedy Space Center and 3 miles from the ocean. Florida Tech is a really small engineering and flight school (about 2500 undergrad). Melbourne is small to me, because I'm originally from the Chicago area, but it's big for Florida (60,000 people).

I am a alum of Zeta Nu chapter in Valdosta, Ga.

Nothing interesting about Valdosta except the high schools and college teams dominate in football. Plus its the birth place of Doc Holliday, its also the place where he practiced his denistry until he moved out west.

I'm a Sweetheart of the Rho Pi chapter at the University of Rio Grande. (Prounced Rye-o Grand ) My Teke was the histor last year and is now I think he's going Pryloritis (sp?) here next semester.

Rio Grande is a small village in Ohio about the size of a few hundred people. Yes, it's teeny-tiny! But, it has a McDonalds..so that's a plus. We have the crappiest weather of anyone, it can be 80 degrees one day and the next it can be 30 degrees with a windchill of -10.

Frost and maybe some ice is the worst we ever get here. No snow, to far south.
