Sisterhood activities

hey guys,
i am sisterhood chair for my sorority. i have to come up with a sisterhood activity for our informal meeting on sunday. i have ran out of ideas to do and i have know clue on what to do. if anyone would comment on how to make their sister/brotherhood stronger by doing something fun in a short amount of time i would be so greatful. thanks

We have "Friends" night over at the house where everyone meets in the big t.v. room and has snacks and watches "Friends." It's easy to get girls interested especially with the promise of food, since it's such a hot commodity in college.

Depending on what time your meetings are, pizza or some other type of food is always good. In my chapter, we sometimes order pizzas and all hang out after the meeting is over and eat together. It's a great way to hang out together in our suite and catch up with each other.

Have a Mystic Pizza movie night! It could be fun too look for all the clues as a chapter. We usually have speakers on different topics. I hope this helps.

Some of the things that we have done for sisterhood nights include watching movies at a sister's house, Mary Kay parties, going out to a cheap Mexican restaurant near campus, auction off sorority stuff (usually old sets of letters from alum), family nights, go to support our sisters (lacross matches, concerts, etc), going to school sporting events or other things that are going on on campus, grab-a-date events, we had someone come in and teach tae kwan do one time...basically anything that will spark sisters interest and get them to come out will work.

Going along with all of these ideas...when planning any kind of sisterhood be aware of schedules and interests. We had someone plan a Mary Kay event on a night where there was a concert at a local club, a lot of sisters at night class and the remaining sisters who were free not interested in make up. You can't please everyone but the whole point of sisterhood events are to get closer which you cannot do if no one is there!

We just had a sisterhood activity where each active brought a type of ice cream and each new member brought a topping and we made ice cream sundaes (this semseter we had more pledges than actives, but you could reverse it). Also another sisterhood we like to do is make cupcakes and celebrate everyones birthday that is around that time.

It's kind of cheesy, but how about going bowling? The chapter (i'm an alum advisor) recently had a bowling night, which was a real hit and the girls had a great time.

I agree! It's usually something college students haven't done since they were little and it's really a blast. We have a bowling lane in our union that is really cheap for students. I think bowling is pretty cheap in general. Plus it's fun to watch all the awful bowlers such as myself.

Hmm....our chapter has some great sisterhood events!! Last week we all went on a hayride, we stopped and built a fire and roasted marshmallows and made hot chocolate....it was a blast! We are having a PJ party soon too....we are going to watch chick flicks. Another thing we do all the time (my personal favorite) is sharades (however you spell it!) what we do is pick about 7 sisters and make them go in a different room. One of them will come out of the room to where we are all sitting. One of us will tell a story for that sister to act out. For example, you're riding your bike, then you stop at the beach and are building a sandcastle when you get stung by a bee, then you run into the water to stop the stinging, and you start to drown, so you call over the hot lifegaurd, he rescues you and you kiss. The sister would then have to act that whole thing out to another sister who was hiding in the different room.....it continues until the last sister, and then that sister has to guess what the story was. It gets ABSOLUTELY hilarious because by the time the last sister is up, you have NO idea what the girls are trying to act out anymore!! The more detailed, the funnier!! Have fun!

Since we do not have a house, one thing we started this qtr. is weekly bonding events. Where a couple of sisters get toether & host a bondign event at there house. They choose what we do, & any sister who can make it shows up.

Another thing we have done that seems to work well is u go to the dollar store by a small gift for each sister. gift normal has some story or joke behind, that everyone may not now. u wrap each gift & pass it out one to each sister. then u go around hte room & each sister has to guess who their gift belongs to. a twist is if she has already been gave a gift, u switch her gift & then figure out who that gift belongs to. we have doen this several times & it has always been a big hit.
