Smile What do you love about the holidays?

Hey everyone!

The holiday season is upon us yet again (didn't the year just fly by?). So what do you all love most about the holidays?

Talking

Going home. It's nice to get away from the college scene for a little while and be able to just relax.

The decorations and color and lights. I love the warmer clothes and the fire in the fire place. I love decorating our family christmas tree. I get so sentimental I usually cry. I love giving gifts now more than receiving.

Best of all I just love the high spirits of the season. How people are thankful and happy. I love gathering with family members and just sitting around doing nothing.

I love it all!

The knowledge that this year I WILL be home with my family for Christmas!!!! I miss seeing my mom's 15 million Santa decorations (she has been collecting Santa figurines....ones that dance, light up, whatever....for a long time. Yes, they may be tacky at times...but I love 'em!)

I love decorating and seeing my decorations up. I love the sparkly feeling that Christmas brings. I love watching "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"....the cartoon....every year......

But most of all, I love the holiday season cause it means my birthday is coming too! My b-day is Dec. 17...only a week before Christmas!

I soooo can't wait to decorate...I've been itching to decorate for the last few weeks (but I think it's still a bit early....I'm in the Christmas mood early this year!) And I so can't wait to get on a plane VERY early Christmas Eve and spend all day flying home to my family!

I like the money. In my line of work I make about 1/3 of my annual pay in 2 months.

Then get to turn around and spend it on presents.

Time off from work!!!!!! I'm a preschool teacher and we get two weeks off for Christmas and New Year. To be politically correct we call it Winter Break, even though Hanukkah starts the day after Thanksgiving this year. We also get three days off for Thanksgiving too, so that really helps.
PS- I love my job, it's nice to have a break from it.

Bare trees with tiny lights wrapped around every branch like clouds of stars...even prettier than leaves.

Also caroling! Especially when people in the neighborhood have requests, or invite us in for cookies.
