miracle blade III, perfect pancake maker, etc.
Okay, i am SUCH a sucker for infomercials.... always resisted acting up on it. Until now :O)
First, the Miracle Blade III set. I had been thinking about getting a set of decent knives, and I saw the infomercial and was hooked. But I ended up getting it off ebay, slightly cheaper. These things ROCK! they're definately all they're advertised to be. I was so excited to go cut things up in my kitchen, lol
Next, the perfect pancake maker. I've seen the commercials, and thought it was great. My roommate's mom bought her one- THEY SUCK! You make a MESS! When you flip it, batter splatters out everywhere because the two sides don't touch, there's a big gap. And the pancakes burn! I was SOOOOOOO disappointed with this!
Anybody else have any fun experiences with these sorts of things?

Yeah, I am a sucker too...I was going to order a set of knives cuz those guys are so convincing til I told myself "Hey dumbass, you can't cook and you always eat out, why do you need knives?"
True story.

I'm sure you all have a George Foreman girll, they kick ass.
I also have the Set it and Forget it oven, which works wonders for chicken (whole and pieces) and makes nice steaks (though I prefer to grill), but every time I made burgers theyd seep through the rack.

Infomercials are interesting.. they follow a specific format. I'm trying to write a live one for a class I'm in. It's lots of fun

I second that! One of my good friends work at Wal-Mart, and she says you wouldn't believe the number of returns they get on those things.
However, they are usable--if you've got the talent, that is! We used to use something like that back in high school French class to make crepes with (our teacher was awesome...she made us French food all the time!), and I know I never could get it right.

....and I'll third that! I have a friend who tried using that thing to make pancakes for his kids. As he said, "It ended up being a single dad's worst nightmare....pancake batter EVERYWHERE."

My last purchase was Nads, it didn't really work for me. It did get some hair off but I ended up having to shave my legs anyway!

I wish that some group would actually test these things for the public... Why doesn't Consumer Reports look at these guys instead of doing all that testing on cars (which seems to give away good marks to Japanese cars anyhow).
