I have about 6 pandas or so and also not too many roses though I do want to get some silk roses and make an arrangement of some sort. =)

BUMP!

I'm going to go count and see just how many of each I still have in my home, so I'm bumping this up so I don't have to hunt the thread again

I'll be counting pandas, roses, and unicorns. Unicorns are Pi Alpha's original local mascot, I don't even know if the current collegians know that we used the unicorn as a mascot!

Speaking of which, do new chapters ever have a local mascot anymore or does everyone generally only recognize the panda as our 'unofficial but recognized' international mascot?

Christin

I have 2 pandas and no roses at the moment, but they are my favorite flower soooo.....

That does not even begin to compare with all the "AOII" stuff I have though. I even have this great thing my mom had made for me when I got initiated. After I got married she had one made for Mr. AOIIBrandi too. It is a huge frame with my initiation certificate and my original pledge composite. Hubby now has the same thing with his stuff

okay, I've counted everything :)

I've got at least:

14 pandas (before ya'll think I'm too weird, I collect bears!)
3 unicorns
4 AOII-related items on display, not counting jewelry
0 roses
unknown number of AOII things still packed away in boxes!

I've still got my shingle and 3 or 4 composites that will eventually be reframed and put up on a wall somewhere.

Brandi, that frame sounds gorgeous! How big is it?

Roses,
Christin

Christin,

I never measured, but probably about 1.5 ft x 1 ft. My certificate is on top and the composite is below seperated by about an inch of matting - it has red matting. Hubby's is larger b/c his certificate is portrait instead of landscape like ours - his has garnett sueded matting. They are both gorgeous

Roses,

Brandi

When I was in school, we did not use the panda as our mascot, and I know that it is within the last several years that the panda has played a more signficant role within the fraternity. My chapter was very reluctant to change it and did so well after I was gone.

Unfortunately with several major moves between big cities, I don't have a tremendous amount of AOII stuff left. I do have a big red tumbler that was a party favor from some event though. It says in faded white letters Alpha Omicron Pi and has a faded rose on it. For some reason, I have never thrown it away through the years. It has seen my first apartment, my first new home, and every home I have lived in since. It's kind of like an old friend now!

Oh yeah! I do have a box filled with scrapbooks and composite pictures. I forgot about this! If you've moved a lot, than you might know how sometimes certain boxes just go with you from place to place. They are important to you, but you don't open them because you don't have a specific place to store everything in them. I am waiting to go through them with my kids when they are a little older.

I've got one like that in my cabinets! It's missing the last couple of letters of 'Omicron' and part of the 'Pi' but I still use it. Maybe we need to spoil ourselves and order a new one

Roses,
Christin

I hope you all don't mind me crashing your board, but I thought I would share my panda collection with you! My service sorority's mascot is also the panda bear, and I believe I have 12 of them. They range in size from three inches to a three footer I got at FAO Schwarz, and include a panda windsock! I decided I will someday have to decorate a baby room with pandas, so my little sister made me a baby blanket that is blue with pandas on one side and pink with pandas on the other. Most of my pandas were gifts from sisters, and I love every one of them!

Thanks for letting me share!

I was just thinking the same thing. If I ever have kids I already have pandas to decorate the room with! *haha* A three footer, now I'm jealous! I have a big panda, but not THAT big!
