Bruh Producing a Play in NYC

I am currently producing a play in mid-town of NYC. Looking to try to get a good turnout as the play is hot! If you bruhs could pass this info to as many bruhs, women and people as you know in the NY area, that would be greatly appreciated.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

New York, New York-Roicayo Productions and Arch Productions bring to the stage a revival of Jean Genet’s “The Maids,” staged and interpreted by the prodigal son of New York underground theater - Dennis Leroy Moore for limited run at The Producers Club II. “The Maids”, a staple of the modern avant-garde theater, is a dark and emotionally severe play about oppression, slavery, and the soul-destroying system of Capitalism. It centers on the bizarrely incestuous relationship between two maids, Claire and Solange, and their desire to murder their abusive employer, Madame and be free. “The Maids” was based on the real-life incidents of the Papin Sisters in France in the 1930’s.

DLM has chosen to abandon the traditional portrayal of the roles in “The Maids,” by utilizing female actors, instead of males – whom audiences have become accustomed to seeing interpret the roles of Madame, Claire, and Solange over the past forty years. The racially mixed cast is a rare combination of humor, pathos, and sensuality. The captivating Janina Belgrave makes her New York stage debut as the sinister Madame, while Kayhan Irani zealously portrays the role of Claire, in what shall be a long-awaited return to the theatre. Stacey Cervellino, an experienced theater actress finely knits the role of Solange.

This production of “The Maids” unites the vision of DLM with NYC-based Architect and Fulbright scholar Robert Delpazzo. Delpazzo creates a world that is bathed in the stark surrealism reminiscent of a Rene’ Magritte painting, mixed with the nervous sado-masochism of the Velvet Underground. With a hallucinatory soundscape evocative of a battlefield by Martin “Shish” Caba, haunting live flute playing by Tonya Ridgeley, and a beautifuIly garish lighting design by Beau Decker, DLM’s production is truly reflective of the current times.

“The Maids” opens to the public Friday, November 8th, 2002 for 11 performances closing on November 17th, 2002. Showtimes are 8:00 p.m. with additional performances on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. All tickets are $15.

The Producers Club II is located 616 9th Avenue between W. 43rd and W. 44th. For further information and reservations, call 212-330-7477.
