Thumbs up Big XII Football- South Rises Again!

http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/colleges/4332880.htm

Sorry Huskers, we're going to have to add another loss to a South team this Saturday at Kyle Field. But, i'll be rooting for ya when the horns come to visit.

Kitso
KS 361 yards passing Dustin Long is going to have against the Huskers on Saturday.

Oklahoma would have a straight shot to Tempe if it was in the North. We'll see how that record ends up being 2 weeks from now when they visit Fulsom Field.

They STILL have to make it through the South though which is no simple feat with A&M, OSU and Tech to go. It's no easy road by any means.

Still, I'm confident the Big 12 will be well represented in Tempe

Hi Snake,

I think Oklahoma has a pretty good chance at ending up in Tempe -- but if you want to see Oklahoma vs. Colorado, I wouldn't bother coming to Folsom Field.

The game is in Norman.

It's also Parent's Weekend at O.U. and we'll be down there from Denver to see our son.

Lucky scheduling for us.

Even better BCS came out today.. OU #1 beating Miami by 3 points. Big 12 is looking a little tougher than the Big East these days...

The bcs is wacky though, with Nebraska 2nd at the end of last year and Notre Dame 3rd so far this year, I don't take that poll seriously even though its the one that counts. Miami only got 1 2nd place vote and no 1st place votes out of the 7 computer polls included in the bcs. That should tell you something right there.

Reason is their strength of schedule. Notre Dame actually has the best strength of schedule in the BCS and is only .66 points behind Miami. I seriously doubt they'll make it through their season undefeated though.

Miami really only plays 2 tough teams that I can think of right off the top of my head this season... Fla St (which has already lost 2) and Va Tech which looks to be a tough game.

Oklahoma who actually leads #2 by 3 full points has played (already) Alabama, South Fla (which is 5-2 this year, not with a very tough schedule, but their wins are what count to the BCS computers), Texas, Iowa State and still has the Big 12 to make it through. What will ensure Oklahoma gets in over say.. Notre Dame is that they play a 13th game assuming they go to the Big 12 championship.

The road looks tough still for Oklahoma having Colorado, A&M, Tex Tech and Ok State still to play.

Should be an interesting season.

All I have to say is: look where strength of schedule got the huskers last season.

Ktsnake, it will be the sooners vs. canes this year for it all imho.

I'd have to agree with that prediction. At least at this moment it doesn't look like anyone is left to stop either team. Miami still has to handle the Hokies which are I think a better team than FSU is this year so that COULD potentially go either way. The rest of their schedule is cake... No wonder they look so good

The Sooners still have a rough time ahead. They play Colorado 2 weeks from now, then have to go to play Texas A&M at Kyle Field. If you're not familiar with that venue it's probably the loudest venue in NCAA football. The fans actually have midnight yelling practice. They also have to handle Tech who has the #1 passer in all of football, Kliff Kingsberry.. But OU has been pretty good against these big name QB's... Simms, Wallace, etc.

There's also the matter of Oklahoma State which for the past 2 years has been OU's kryptonite. They play like a team that has nothing to lose (and usually that's about right) this year they could be playing for a bowl game... their first in a great many years.

Miami also looks good b/c they play a great system with amazing athletes . . . they'll decimate the Hokies, then we'll talk again in January.

You guys looked good against Wallace, and Kingsbury isn't that amazing (Simms? Are you freaking kidding?). He's a good quarterback, but the system is what puts up the numbers - I saw them play in person at the Alamo Bowl, he's not that stunning. He doesn't make great reads, but he'll hit open receivers . . . I don't see that happening with Stoops on the D plan.

The Sooners will run the table on the way out, but don't put too much into that computer ranking - Nebraska got WORKED last year, and benefitted very similarly from strength of schedule. Notre Dame is going to have to score some points on a good defense before I make them top-5 - they're the biggest reason right now for you to be skeptical about your team's ranking (shit, and mine too).

Chopper,

Nov. 9th. Mark it down OU at Kyle Field. We will NOT let this one get away like we did in 2000. And anyway, HOW can you root for the whorns? They are TRAGICALLY overrated!
Ags 31 Sooners 28

Actually ktsnake, it's Midnight Yell Practice, but thank you for the props. I honestly see us having a very good chance to knock the Sooners off in this game. If our defense plays as it's accustomed, Hybl's going to have to show what's he's made of. As far as Kingsbury is concerned, he does a great job of managing that offense. I don't think he's got tremendous quarterback skills, but he knows that offense and he runs it well, and that's where his numbers come from.

KS 361 times the Ags will kiss their dates Saturday against the bugeaters.

If the Sooner D places like they did against ISU you can pretty much count on a trip to the Fiesta Bowl. If they play like they did against Mizzou then it'll be a close game and your prediction will probably be about right.

Hybl isn't that great of a QB but he's at least consistant now (with the exception of the Texas game). He's Only thrown 4 INT's this year and Griffin (the HB) has yet to lose a fumble. I agree that the A&M game comes down to the Aggie Defense playing well but the offense has to come out fighting also.

Maybe the backup QB Brent Rawls will be healthy by that time... His broken finger was just about healed and then he goes and falls out the back of a pickup truck before the South Florida game... Got a concussion that put him out for 6 weeks.

All I can say is Seneca Wallace was held to -22 yards rushing and 44 yards passing in last week's game. An offense that normally scores 39 was held to 3. I guess we'll find out if that was a fluke or not next week when the Buffs visit.

Saturday's NU-A&M game really surprised me.

A&M didn't seem to stay in the game for the 2nd half... Their offense seemed to have left the field.

Maybe Nebraska's back on the rise?

Thumbs down Ready to eat Crow

Ok, i'll admit it, i was wrong. I assumed that A&M was going to be able to continue the Huskers bleeding.

For all those in the Cornhusker state, i would like some ears of Corn to eat with my Crow.

Now i just hope we can eek out a win against OSU or Mizzou and be bowl eligible. The A&M team i saw on Saturday has no chance against OU. It's the second time this season we've let a lead of at least 10 points be erased in the fourth quarter at HOME.

I don't know what happend to the Wrecking Crew, but maybe this pitiful home display will finally get a shakeup in the coaching ranks.

KS 361 times i never thought i'd live to see A&M lose 3 home games in the same season
