Hey everyone. This is gonna be a downer dump so beware!!
I just want to vent and maybe get advise if I can.
This past Feb my uncle suddenly died, age 36, from sudden cardiac arrest (a hear attack). He was health as a horse with no blocked arteries, so the doctors think he had a fluck problem with is SA nodes, or the electrical impulses in his heart. No family history, no current medical problems, nothing! Just Dead!
Anyway, he left behind 6 children, ages 5-16, and my Aunt who is still on medications for depression. These people were not rich with money, but very rich with love. The family was VERY close to each other! They had plans to build a bigger house from the result of there hard work!
My uncle had his own gutter business so he didnt have health ins, it was just him. He also supplied his own life ins for lack of an employer one, but he was also the only employee!
My uncle's best friend died of a heart attack two months prior and started thinking real hard about getting additional life ins incase anything were to happen to him. So they decided to apply for more life ins. The new life ins gave him a health exam, which he passed, and sent off the results to process the application. They told him he had to cancel his current life ins policy to be offered another one of more value....so he did. Two weeks later my uncle died. The next day his acceptance certificate came in the mail...a day too late!
So they didnt get anything from ins. They did alright due to a massive showing of love and support from the communities and former co-workers of my uncles.
Then, yesterday. The landlord of my aunts place,( they were renting a trailer on someone else's land) came over and told her she would have to find somewhere else to live due to him selling the place. They had untill he sold, and apparently he has a buyer.
My aunt has no idea what she is going to do. She cant work due to having young children, one with Cereble Palsey(sp??) and requires home schooling. She cant afford child care, or to buy a house.
The good news in this all is the fact that she has applied for a Habitat for Humanity home, and had passed the first level of acceptance. We are all holding our breath for her. I dont even want to think about it if she gets denied!! The other members of our family think that it is my families responsilbity to help them out financially and that is getting to be VERY stressful!!
