Personal ads

I was looking through the personal ads on yahoo just for fun and to see if anyone i know posted an ad. I was searching for men from my hometown. A guy that I dated in high school, who dumped me bc he said he was going into the seminary which he never did, has a personal ad. He made himself sound like he is Prince charming. He is also lookingfor a physical relationship. i never should've dated him bc he wasn't over his ex when he dated me. He also was a jerk bc he bought me lingerie and then breaks up with me bc he is decides within a week that he is going into the seminary. He also believed that he was a virgin as long as he didn't ejacualte in a girl. Whatever. Anway I just thought it was funny that he had a personal ad. He doesn't have his career posted, that's because he works in retail(there's nothing wrong with that), he also still lives at home. I just had to tell someone, it was kind of a highlight of my day.
anyone else ever seen someone they know post a personal ad?

I have.. it's kind of funny to see someone you know.. But on the other hand, this particular person was a nice girl and well-adjusted. Just trying a different approach I guess. Wasn't the type to hit the bar or church scene (funny that those are the two places you generally go to meet people of the opposite sex).

I met one of my exes that way. I was browsing the AOL personals (back when they were free). I stumbled on this guy's pic and just had to write him. He had one of those goofy pics up on the internet, but he was sorta cute and as we exchanged emails I got to know him better.
All I have to say is that you can LIE LIE LIE on AOL! So many people make themselves out to be something they're not. Don't get me wrong...there are some good ones out there. However I don't put too much faith in online personals anymore....or even meeting people off the internet.

I look all the time too! I am glad that you have found some satisfaction in him having to lie his way into a date on Yahoo! I think it is kind of fun to look at them for a good laugh! I actually kind of have my eye on one add though.

I saw my sister on match.

My sister just met three men on match. She has received dozens of e-mails because she is very pretty and has a funny profile. She met a great guy recently and is dating him. If you're honest and watch out for psychos, you might meet someone good.

On the other hand, one day about two or three years ago I was searching one dating site and ran across a guy calling himself 'Craven Morehead!'

It took a minute for me to figure that one out.

My Mom met someone on the internet.
I really don't like him, because we caught him at a bar with another woman!!!

I just don't know how you go about meeting normal males after you are out of school though. There are so many bad apples.

I've gotten on yahoo personals and things of like in the past to see if I could find anyone from my hometown actin' a fool... And, surprisingly enough, there was an abundance of them... It killed me, it was so damn funny...There's nothing appealing to "I like poetry, candle-lit dinners, and a night in front of the fireplace" when you know the person you're talking about really means "My name is Lacy, I like long walks on the beach, malt liquor, and gang bangs!"... Pardon for the vulgarity, but Puh-lease!!!, you know what I'm sayin!!!

The fact is though it doesn't differ a whole lot from the bar scene. If you want to get anywhere at the bar scene you have to lie... It's a fact of life.. Women don't want the truth. They say they do but if you give it you're not getting any.

This brings me to another point-- what about women who decide to write prisoners? That's how one of the Mendez brothers met his wife. I'm not putting an ad online, I just like to look at the ads.
