Question AGD Weddings

The oh so knowledgable AGDs...

Does anyone know of any AGD wedding rituals? One of our (some-what recent) alums is getting married and she asked me about it. If you ladies know of any, could you PM or e-mail me. Thank you!

This one is simple - all of the Alpha Gams, including the bride, circled the groom at the reception with each of us holding either a red or buff rose. We sang Candlelighting Time and as we sang, we each gave him our rose (and hugged him, etc) with the bride being the last to give him her rose.

Ours is easy too. Each of the bride's sorority sisters circles around her at the reception. Each of us is holding one long-stemmed red or yellow rose. We all sing one of our songs, usually "Our Time is Short," although it doesn't have to be ~ sing the song that is most special to the bride or your chapter as a whole. While we are all singing, each sister steps up and gives the bride her rose and congratulates her. By the end of the song (however many verses it takes to finish) the bride has a bouquet of beautiful red & buff roses. It is my favorite ritual ever.

At my chapter all of the sisters make a circle around the bride and we sing "Alpha Gam Girl" and then at the end we semi-rush towards her and do hadie kadie. I don't know how long we have done this but I have been to quite a few weddings like this. As a matter of fact one of my sorority sisters is getting married to one of my boyfriend's fraternity brothers this weekend so I guess I get to sing then too!

Went to a wedding last week in Colorado and someone bought the bride a squirrel pin. There was at least a million layers of tulle to her dress (I can't tell you how many bugs we had to get out of the layers of tulle since she got married outside! It was horrible!) Anyways while we were getting dressed we had a little "ceremony" and pinned the squirrel to one of the bottom layers of her dress so she had it with her all night.

I remembered this thread when my little sis and I were at dinner with our boyfriends this past weekend, and we were all talking about weddings and fun AGD-related stuff to do at them. Both of our boyfriends said that we better not do Hadie Kadie at our (very distant) weddings, except they referred to it as "that circle of banshees thing." LOL
