Anyone like THe CUre
it's late and I'm bored plus I can't sleep.
Usually a real big alternative fan, but I love new wave and retro 80's stuff. So I wanted to ask if anyone is a big Cure fan.
may be stupid but just thought I'd ask..
I'm a big 80's kid so u know how that goes...

"Letters to Elise" and "Lovecats" (sorry if the names are a bit off) are my two fave songs, but they are cool! BUT, they OVERPLAY the hell out of "Friday I'm In Love" around here! I HATE FM RADIO!!!!!!!!

"Just Like Heaven" is such an amazing song... this thread just reminded me how long it has been since I've listened to the Cure.

haha, seeing this thread made me think of that South Park episode where Robert Smith of the Cure saved south park and it's residents from the evil Barbara Streisand dinosaur type thing...

Robert Smith is very articulate his interviews give some insight on his brilliant mind. He is kind of off the wall though

They played only 1 chord I think in all of their music.. or was it all in one key? I think it's the 1 chord thing.. and I think it was F but not sure.

Probably only one key. One chord is basically the same note unless you are implying they are playing one chord but in different progressions of the chord.
Not to diss the Cure peeps but for me MJ was THE 80s guy.

Panda -- I'm pretty sure it was one chord or the progression of a chord. I'm no music major (but my girlfriend is so maybe that counts ) Playing all in one key wouldn't really be that big a deal though because plenty of bands are like that... Green Day is ALWAYS in G major for example.

I love the Cure! In that South Park episode I love @ the end when Stan yells "Disentegration is the best album ever!" because that's my fave Cure album!
I work with a guy who is a H U G E fan of the Cure & he even named his daughter Charlotte after their song "Charlotte Sometimes".

The Cure is awesome.
I was kinda into them before, had a roommate freshman year who was really into them. Heightened my interest, they're an awesome band.
