Sorhors and Friends - What are you doing to stay warm?
Folks,
I think that in the past week that all I eat is warm soup; I'm a campbell's chicken noodle woman, put on extra layers of clothes and snuggle up with my Rhoyal blue and Gold Sorority blanket and just cuddle in the late evenings because it's so cold on the east coast. Sorhors on the west coast I'm so jealous right now because I know that you all are enjoying the sunniest weather.
Seriously folks I want to know - what are you doing to keep warm? I always welcome some very friendly advise that is safe and obtainable!
Serioussigma22
P.S. Sorhors and Friends of Sigma the weather people are calling for more snow on this coming Monday evening (1/27/2003).

i feel your pain!
i do believe that old man winter had jokes for us folks not used to cold weather this season! i am from miami so 68 degrees is bundle up weather, but it was 15 degrees here in gainesville yesterday! my mom called and told me that even in the good old magic city of miami, florida, it hit 30! is this an el nino thing?
soror serious sigma, i feel your pain-- just when the wind chill hit 9 degrees, my heater went out! but, just like you, i had my trusty SIGMA GAMMA RHO blanket to keep me toasty! eee-yip to that!

i am soooo glad that i live in los angeles! not trying to rub it in (as i sit here at work in a sun dress) but the weather has been nothing but nice! yesterday was about 80 degrees.
but on the RARE occasion that it does get cold, i like to get my fleece blankie and a book and curl up on my couch.

Girl I feel your pain!
I just try to stay inside. It is 15 degrees. Chances of me going to the store are slim to nil.
Of course that involves certain sacrifices on my part, but I can shower with shampoo if I have to, lol.
I'll go outside when the weather gets back up to 25 degrees

not bad here
Hey Sorhors,
Well here in souteast Texas, Houston actually, the weather is a bit nasty. It is cold, like 42 F, and rainy. Now, before some of you and think 42 F is not so bad, let me tell you that for south Texas where the weather is usually hot (100 F) and not-so-hot (90 F), 42 is like freeeeezing!!!!

Folks,
Now I wished that lived on the West coast because I'm still very, very, very cold and today we even had a freezing rain and some of the surrounding school districts/counties went to school two hours late. I want spring and summer! I can't take anymore of this very cold weather.

Serioussigma, I feel you... I live in NC and we have never had cold temps like this... two weeks ago the nightly low's were in the teens.... brrrrrrrrr!!!!!! I'm not used to it at all but what I do it set my heat on 72, curl up on my couch with a comforter (a blanket is tooooo small) and also I dress in layers: t-shirt, sweatpants, sweatshirt, scarf(if its too cold), and socks. That keeps me warm till bedtime.

It was a tad bit chilly here in North Texas today. My employer didn't think it was cold enough to shut down, but it was cold enough for me to say home. Weatherman doesn't think it will be any better tomorrow morning, so I might be staying home again

Sick of this snow!!
When will it end? I do believe that this snow is a blessing from God with all of the talk about being prepared for a terrorist attack, we need this. But I am bored with it and don't want to stay home another day!!! I heard on the news yesterday that we have had more snow than Denver
