Thanks, Brandon. That was interesting. I have not heard much of that information. Can we call you an honorary Alpha Gam? Thanks again for posting this for us to see. Lisa

Facts like that really come in handy.
I try to include a little known fact in each newsletter I send out to the alums and I hear they love it!

I think one of the coolest facts about AGD is that they have 2 sets of Armorial Bearings...
One for AGDs in Canada:

and one for AGDs in USA:

I had never seen
I had never seen the canadian one before, it looks bear to the first time viewer, but I also agree it is interesting that the founders didn't wish to step on anyone's toes, not even the royal family's.

Does anyone know if any other sorority has two sets of armorial bearings/crests? I think that it's cool how our Founders had that much respect for the Royal Family.
It truly was a big thrill last year singing "O Canada" with our Canadian sisters last year at Convention!

When Canada was a British territory there was a law that stated no one other than a person or group with royal ties or blood could have the closed helmet in thier armorials or crests....I remember reading that ....I think it was in E Butterfields book on heraldry
I too thought it was cool!!
