Besides the lifetime award, R. Kelly led the field Saturday with three nominations.

Nine other artists had two nominations each, including rap quartet the Black Eyed Peas and solo stars Keyshia Cole, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Charlie Wilson, Bobby Valentino, John Legend, Mariah Carey and Kanye West.
Other honorees included Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx and Destiny's Child, who will be recognized for outstanding career achievements by musician Quincy Jones.
Legend was to be presented with the 2006 Sammy Davis Jr. Entertainer of the Year award.
The Soul Train Music Awards, started by the syndicated music show "Soul Train," celebrate artists in R&B, hip-hop and gospel music.
The 2006 honors, hosted by Vivica A. Fox and Tyrese Gibson, will air in syndication beginning March 11.
