Question Zeta Debutante

I was just wondering if you know of any Zeta Debutantes or Cotillions in the NC or VA area?
Also is that something that Zeta does a lot of?
I know of the Zeta "finishing school" of old. But I haven't heard a lot about these events in recent years.... Does anyone have any input on this?
Thanks ladies.

Talking Crashing the board

I am not a member of ZPB, but when I was a little girl, my older sister (she is ten years older than me) was a Zeta Debutante. In my area, it was a real honor to be apart of this tradition and she wore her "Zeta Deb" t-shirt out.

Good Luck on your search.

Actually...

Debutante balls generally are more common in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. south of the Mason Dixon line. And if you happen upon an Archonette club in the area, you may very well find a debutante ball or cotillion... "Blue Revue" as they are commonly referred.

The tradition is becoming more common, as we continue to focus on our youth from a cross organizational point of view. My chapter has begun discussing having a cotillion a couple years down the line. They require a lot of planning.

My chapter is in California, and we have had several debutante balls billed as the "Blue Revue" Debutante Ball. I assisted with the girls' activities in the last one, and their theme was "Cultivating Precious Pearls." As far as I know, we are the only Zeta chapter is California to host them--mostly because the "Finer Womanhood" festivities take up most of a chapter's resources, and we don't do a FW activity during a cotillion year. You are indeed right--they require a lot of planning, and a lot of time.

In my home town, Salisbury, NC, the Zetas throw a debutante ball every year. It's a really nice affair and all of the girls from surrounding high schools look forward to participating in it. I was in it during my junior year of high school, but then dropped out because I didn't have the time, energy, or money to ask for ads, attend practices, and buy a deb. dress.
