Also, what were your T-shirts like? I'm advising chapters with January Rush, so the information will be put to good use!

Our shrits this year were a pale yellow. On the front was a little sun and the writing ADPi bid day 2002. On the back is a picture of two girls sitting on a flower and says bid day 2002 ADPi and "A sister is a special friend you grow up with and never outgrow." The nice part is the shirts were really colorful and cute. You can kind of see them in our bid day pictures on http://www.geocities.com/nauadpi

As for what the girls got is:
-Balloons tied to sticks (so we can place then in the ground for pictures)
-a tag board lion head with a little message from their pi pal who will take them through alpha the night
-an adpi pad of paper
-an adpi key chain
-an adpi pen
-an adpi pencil
-an adpi cup

I think that was everything that was in them.

Hope that helps.

THANKS!!!

nauadpi

THANK YOU!
So helpful and congratulations again on your wonderful new Alphas!!!
Also, the balloons on a stick idea is a very useful one, I'm definitely filing that away for future use!

We got shirts that said "Alpha Delta Pi" across in the style of Coca-Cola lettering, red on a white cap sleeve fitted tee. Then on the back there was a red star that had bid Day 2002 in it. Also we were given blue messenger bags that had our letters and USC monogrammed on them. Inside those were ADPi notepads, pens, keychains, and candy.
I really liked our messanger bag, I carry mine to class every day. A lot of the sororities do backpacks, but I think messanger bags are so unique and they carry more stuff.

In the weeks following, my big sis apparently raided the rush closet and snagged me a few things from bid nights of past, such as a bumper sticker, beanie baby lion, shot glass, and bottle opener keychain. She also snagged me some shirts from events from last year that were left over or never paid for.

If you are just looking for shirt ideas, I thought the kappa bid day shirt was really cute this year, it was a teal tank with blue lettering across the front in kind of 60-s cosmonaut lettering it says Kappa and then on the back it has stars and stuff and said "Wish I may, Wish I might, I got the wish I wished tonight; Bid Night 2002"

hope this helps

the bid day shirts for us this year were red t-shirts and they said.... They came expecting, We left remembering, we came empty, we left fulfilled, we came as many, we left as one....then the picture shows the back of three little girls with their arms around each other......then underneath it it says.....we came as strangers, we left as sisters, we came with nothing, we left with everything....ALPHA DELTA PI the best of whats around.

and the gifts the girls got were:

an adpi bag with a lion on it, license plate, adpi id keychain thing, adpi pen and pencil....i'm not sure what else was in it.

pi love,
kayla

We do all the same gifts that NAU does at ASU. Our shirts were cute this year. They were black with white writing. The front said ADPi in the Pony design, and the back said "You think you know... but you have no idea" ASU Bid Day 2002

The Bid day gifts were Bid day navy blue fitted T-shirt that had the Greek symbols ADPi with silver stars around it. Then on the back its says "As long as the stars shine bright in the sky, my heart will belong to ADPi" and we gave them Lavilers.

These are such cute ideas. I love the candle from preference idea...I wonder what we can do that is similar since we cannot burn actual candles (insurance reasons --well better safe than sorry actually )
Lavaliers are a very practical idea because you don't need to do sizes of shirts. I advised a chapter one year that had two such tiny little girls in the Alpha class that the t-shirts looked like a dress on them.
The shower caddie is pretty original too, I like that one a lot.

Such good ideas girls...thank you!
