Has anyone ever played with a Ouija Board? What happened?

I only did a few times, freshman year of college. The weirdest thing was when my friend Beth and I were playing with the Ouija board, and our friend Jeremy was in the room. He had some sheet music in an envelope, and neither Beth nor I knew what sheet music it was, so we asked the Ouija board. I can't remember what it was, but the Ouija board got it right -- I think it was Whitney Houston or something like that, something we would have never guessed. It was one of those things that freak you out at the time but then you forget about it.

I think I must be unreceptive to spirits, because I have an old Ouija board and I've played with it several times, all without success or anything exciting happening. My oldest sister, however, had a really terrifying experience with a Ouija board in college, though, which is why to this day she refuses to touch one.

When I was applying to college, I 'played' with a Ouija Board with my little sister and her friends. I was kind of watching them because my mother was busy. Anyway, the spirit focused on me and my college applications. I thought that it was the girls just messing around. I got three responses to my question, "Where will I go to college?" First answer was a school to which I had considered applying, but didn't. Second answer was a school to which I hadn't even applied. The third answer was "nowhere too dumb" which freaked me out. So I said maybe I should apply to one of the first two. Ouija pointed to YES.
Fastforward to six months later, I wound up attending the school in answer number two after answer number three almost came true. ***cue scary music***

I remember playing with it a few years back and I coulda sworn it spelled out:
B-E-T-T-Y F-O-R-D.
I'm serious.

What's the background of the ouija board? Anyone knows?

Dionysus,
I read something about it on the Internet...I can't really remember the details, but Parker Brothers sure didn't come up with it! Just go to Yahoo and do a search.

This *may* be an urban legend.. but...
Ok.. there was this girl at my old school who, way back in the day, had just begun college. She was living in the dorms and one day tried that board for fun with some friends. She supposedly got really obsessed with it and would even skip class to sit in her room and do the ouiji board all the time. Eventually she supposedly went crazy and committed suicide in her room. Hmm so yea.. campus housing doesn't assign anyone to that room anymore because they recieved many complaints from people living there

Has anybody ever had luck using the Ouija board alone? I tried a few times but it wouldn't do anything -- it only worked if I was with someone else.

That only happens when Captain Howdy is around, i.e. in The Exorcist.

It only works with two people because one of them has to be moving it around lol.
My Grandmother, the 7th child of a 7th child, told me stories of her Grandmother who seemed to be a part time: "spirtualist."
Anyway: They didn't use a Ouja board they used a three legged table.
And supposedly the table would jump around to spell out its answers. Which doesn't sound freaky until you come to understand that no one would be touching it . . .

Oh, how about the Tarrot Card? My mom learned how to use them, so she used me as her practice ... and yes, everything she said was trus (past and future). So nothing I can do but believing the Tarrot Card ...

Back in high school I spent the night at a friend's house and she and her sister wanted to play w/a ouija board. I, of course, said hell no, but they pretty much said, "oh well," and said I could just watch. Well, for some reason I began asking questions and then I began asking questions about my grandmother who had recently passed away. I started bawling, so that was the end of that experience. I would never again mess with a ouija board. They are hella scary to me!!!
