My car was stolen last night!!!!!!!
Holy crap. So most of you know, I recently relocated. So I have only been here 2 freaking months and when I go out to run errands with my husband this morning my f'ing car is GONE! I thought he was playing a joke on me, but this was no joke!
And it is probably the only TX license plate in RI, so it was a really dumb steal for whoever took it! I am sure they took the plates off ASAP...
So I called my dad first (always my first reaction to anything) and he was calm, but my mom was like freaking in the background. Then he got me to call the police. it wasn't until the police put me on hold that I started crying.
So now I have to wait until Monday afternoon to get a rental car picked up, which is covered (all but 2 dollars of it per day) by my car insurance (who, have been VERY nice, understanding, sympathetic!...AMICA for those of you who need a good company)

I'm so sorry that has happened to you! Hopefully they'll find the car soon and in one piece. I know it probably doesn't seem very likely right now, but most of the stolen cars that my company has turn up eventually. We had two from the past several months and both were found in pristine condition, so it is possible!
I'm glad your insurance company is being so good about everything. And please, if you are renting from Enterprise and you have any problems at all please don't hesitate to pm me and I will do what I can! (In case it's not obvious, I work for Enterprise.)
Take care, and good luck!

Well the only plus would be if they screw up your car too much you can get a new one right?

I had my car stolen once... Underpatrolled parking garages at the mall are bad places to park. I agree with something that was said Pulp Fiction... Something to the effect that messing with another person's car should be punishable by death.
You definitely feel pretty damned helpless... pissed... broke.
Hopefully it turns up somewhere!

Oh, I'm sorry, I have a phobia or something or my car being stolen. A kid in HS in my homeroom had his stolen. I have no idea what I would do if it actually happened. I don't know how you feel, but, gosh, I hope you get it back.

I'm so sorry to hear it. I hope your car is either recovered in good shape, or not recovered so you get insurance $ to buy a new one. Take care.

Hey everyone. Well, still no word on my car. I am not expecting to hear anything either. I either have to hope that it is found in pristine, untouched condition or that it is not found at all/found in a chop shop in pieces. If it is a total loss or if it is not found in a couple weeks, I get the value of my car from my insurance. My dad will then pay off the rest of the car loan (since he technically owns the car, then he will give me the money that is left which should be 3,000 or so. That will be used towards another car and then I will end up financing the remainder of the price through my credit union most likely. So this could turn out to mean that I get a brand new car, but will end up costing me in the long run. I think everything will work out. I just feel violated. I consider my car sort of an extension of my home, given how much I use it!
It's funny...my husband and I keep thinking "what if we just forgot it somewhere?"...which is totally irrational and impossible, but still a thought that enters out minds....quite strange!

Decades ago, a man that worked with my dad had reported his car stolen at Lenox mall..a high-end priced mall in Atlanta. This was around Christmas time when crime rates can tend to rise a little
Three months later, the Atlanta police called to say that his car was still in the parking lot where he left it!!! Everything was there including his expensive testing equipment and a weapon!!! Guess he came out a different door than the one he went in, lol.
Wonder why it took them 3 months to call!!

Gee, I'm really, really sorry! That sucks beyond words! It's really great that your insurance company is being so understanding... when its time for me to hunt down my own car insurance, I will definitely contact your company if they have it in my area.
I hope that they turn up with your car!
XOXO,
Annie.

I actually had MY car stolen in Providence, RI! I went into a class for a test, came out about 45 minutes later, GONE!!! And what's more strange, is that it had already been totally ransacked and FOUND in that time.........Rumor was the police were actually stealing cars. Wouldn't be surprised after hearing about Plunderdome!
BUT, I love that state, so I'm sorry it happened and don't let it ruin your faith in that wonderful state or its people! I WISH YOU LUCK!
