New Turtles 2002
I just wanted to start a thread where we can post the results of DZ recruitments across the country! Although I am not near a collegiate chapter, I anxiously await Tarleton's rush--and have been reading all the existing rush threads with interest. I am interested in finding out more about the recruitmen results at UGA--did someone post that over 2000 women went through and only 900 or so got bids? Can that be right?
Anyway-I want the scoop on everyone's rush-so get on here and share!!!
DKZ,
Andi

NKU was hands down my favorite rush to visit when I was a consultant!!! (this was back in 1992). I know you will do awesome! I still have pictures from it-and remember the names of some of the pledges--I had a couple of rush crushes of my own that week! You guys kicked butt that year!
I also visited MTSU and enjoyed it soooo much (and borrowed some of the things they did when I helped a chapter that was struggling). The women in Murfreesboro were wonderful!
I can't wait to hear what's happening-and would love to see some threads about your events!

DZ chapters in Georgia...
UGA's Zeta Pi chapter made quota this weekend. They picked up 59 AWESOME new turtles!
1,220 girls went through Rush at UGA this year, and there were a lot who didn't pledge anywhere. The reasons vary, but I think that the most common were 1) Panhellenic made the houses cut a much larger number of girls before 3rd round than in years past and 2) many girls had their hearts set on a select few houses and dropped out after not being invited back to the 3rd round parties.
I'm SO proud of the UGA girls for making quota this year! This is their 16th consecutive year making quota, and it was an especially difficult Rush because of changes made by Panhellenic. Of 18 houses, only 8 made quota -- so the UGA girls have a lot to be proud of!
Also, the Lambda Pi chapter at Georgia College & State University was excited to participate in the largest rush in campus history. Quota was set at a record-breaking 43, and DZ was the only sorority on campus to meet quota. Way to go, Lambda Pi girls!!!

NKU
I just wanted to update everyone on our recruitment. We got out pretty early tonight so I have some time to post. This first night of recruitment only 6 out of over 100 women cut us! Yay! I believe that was the best result of all of the sororities on campus. We cut pretty heavily on the first night. But my Rush Crush was invited back and I got to see her tonight! I am so nervous for her!!! Tomorrow is Pref night, and we seem to be doing really well. I'll give you all an update on Bid Day!
Thanks for the kind words Dzandiloo! You Probably met our ccd while at our recruitment. Thats about the time she was an active. Billie was her first name, but I dont know her maiden name.

USC, LSU Results
This was just posted to the Surfing Sisters, FYI (not by me...I didn't go to USC). Things are looking great in Delta Zeta Land!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am back from a busy, recruitment-filled weekend with wonderful
news. University of South Carolina's quota was 60, and Beta Delta -- MY CHAPTER!! WOOHOO!! -- took 63 wonderful women! LSU's quota was 74, and Sigma took 75 amazing ladies! That makes it 43 YEARS IN A ROW that they have made quota!!
These are large, highly competitive Southern recruitments, and I'm SO happy for our chapters and our strong sisterhood! Yippee!

Yet another NKU recruitment update!
I just got back from our Preference night. My Rush Crush was there (yay)!! It was such an emotional night for me. I am a senior so this is my last recruitment as a collegiate. I started balling my eyes out during the ceremony- I was such a mess!! I cant believe that my time as a collegiate is almost over. There are a lot of Seniors, so atleast I wasnt the only one that was emotional. To compound matters, my Rho Chi who was present when I opened my bid card a couple of years ago, who is also a DZ and a sister I always looked up to, was at the ceremony. I havent seen her in over a year (she went Alumni) so that was also very emotional. Right now I am so grateful to be a DZ. I cant wait to get new members tomorrow and share the great sisterhood of Delta Zeta with them!! I love all of my sisters out there, and I will give you an update tomorrow night!

The FINAL NKU upadate!!!
Well, I just got back from bid day, and it was awesome. The Kappa Beta chapter of Delta Zeta took 22 smiling, beautiful new DZ sisters! That makes quota for 14 years straight!!! And if anyone is interested, my Rush Crush is now a Delta Zeta!! I am so proud of my sisters and so proud to be a DZ!

Go Kappa Beta!!!
Congratulations to you all!
BTW-send me your regular e-mail via pm and I will send you some pics from the rush I attended back in Fall of '92. If Billie is who I think, I have a few pics of her in some Disneyland themed costume...at least you can share them with her.
Give everyone a big pat on the back for us!

Blaire-
I am sending all positive vibes toward Murfreesboro! You guys are gonna kick butt! I was at MTSU recruitment in Fall '92--and II did an outstanding job w/their parties and had an amazing quota pledge class. I really like Tennessee--and your chapter is part of the reason for that.
Please let us know as soon as you know anything how it goes! I just know you are going to SHINE on bid day!

Alright ladies, here's the scoop...the Iota Iota chapter of Delta Zeta (MTSU) welcomed 26 wonderful new sisters! We are so excited! And, for a little bit of background info, that is DOUBLE the pledge class we accepted last fall! Woo-hoo! We are so very proud of ourselves!
It sounds as though chapters from all over are having great successes. Keep up the good work and good luck this fall!
In the flame,
Blaire

Alpha Theta
I just wanted to let y'all know... Alpha Theta (University of Kentucky) recieved 52 beautiful little turtles! However, quota was 62. But we were very picky and we like to blame this on the fact that we did not make quota. We hope to pick up some awesome women through COB in the next couple weeks!
My rush crush pledged! But so did my real little sister-- it was a really exciting bid day!
Hope all is going well!
