Question House Sis?

I've heard of house moms and dads. Is there such a thing as a "House Sis"--a graduated SK who lives at the house as sort of an advisor? I don't mean a chapter consultant, rather someone who maybe handles housing and the overall balance in the house. ????

How did the "House Sis" get her position? Is she an alum?

I interviewed for a position like that at the Delta Gamma house back home (obviously you didn't have to be a DG alum). The position was basically managing the house and keeping an eye on things. They wanted a grad student and they liked me b/c I had been in a sorority but had no bias to any orgs on campus (no sig kap there). When I decided to move back to Phoenix, I respectfuly declined the offer. I thought it would be fun but weird living with another sorority.

sigkapdancer ~ I don't know if you met Marla but she lived with us for a year while she was in grad school.

We ::sort of:: have this. We have a sister who just went alumn last semester and is finishing up her 5 weeks of classes before student teaching, and she's living across the hall from me in the SK hall! She was our door knocker for recruitment, and helps us out with everything we do. I call her the living Sigma Kappa history book since she's been around 5 years and knows so much of the progression of SK at Northwest (we've only been here 7 years) and Northwest Greek Life in general. She held 6 different offices when she was a colleigan, so she has wisdom in so many different areas. I don't know what we'll do without her when she goes to student teach!

PS-We usually don't have a house sis, she's just staying with someone who had asked for a single room for the 5 weeks so she could get a single room for double price for the rest of the semester.
