AM Pins
I am wondering if any chapters have had a hard time obtaining AM pins and brother badges from Int'l.

JONO, YES< YES< YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been trying to get them for several months and had 2 Brothers offer to send money to get them!
I am going to suggest to the Chapter that they do not bury the pins but keep tham and pass on to New Associates until the new ones come in!!!
Brother Corbin, Rose-Huleman suggested that!
We need the pins so the new guys can wear them to advertise they are with LXA!
We have 22 New Assoc. and are looking for more, shooting for 40!
We only charged them to do 30, but bless them, they want to show what they can do and us the Actives nd Alums!
You know I would like to have an Assoc. Pin even though I never was one!
Ah Well!!!!!!

Ebay. Yes that's how this began. I saw that auction for the AM pin and also the one for an economy badge - the kind new initiates are supposed to receive. The high bidder on both was our newest active.
I asked him why he was bidding on these and I was shocked to learn that he'd never received either one and felt disappointed and so was out trying to buy his own.
Now I find this has been going on for several years. Brothers have not had AM pins, brother badges, ID cards, or Certificates. The reason?
The chapter owes Int'l some money.
It was $7,000 but I helped the chapter find HQ's mistakes and get it down to $3,000.
Still Indy is playing hardball and using strong-arm tactics like these to hurt kids who paid their Association and Initiation fees and force them to go out and buy what's rightfully theirs on the open market.
I think it's a sick way of running a fraternity and they will be hearing my opinions very very soon. Helmbock and the rest better watch out because I won't be holding anything back on this one.
I have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Like Tom Earp says, "Whatcha gonna do, Fire me?"
Sorry if I sound a bit angry, actually I'm just totally livid.

A couple of years ago, they took forever sending membership cards. When they finally came, we got Beta Kappas cards, GA Tech, instead of ours, Theta Kappa. Then it took forever to correct the problem.

INT misspelled my name on both my card and my certificate...you'd figure someone at INT could pull their proverbial head out of their ass...
On another note Grits (Florida Souther) brother stopped by our house last night and he is one of the coolest bros...

A +- Experience with Zetas!
Stopped at U Tenn one time on a vacation when married!
UT Brothers showed us through the House and wanted us to stay the evening in VP room! Great!
Next time was Ok St. to busy playing ping pong to even be nice!
Still have a soft spot for the Zeta at U T!
Well, if the HDQTs does not send pledges pins then how in the hell do we show the New Assoc. Members to Campus? This helps to promote the LXA Zeta!
They just keep stepping in the Horse Hocky Puck!!!!!!
Hdqts record keeping and Site is so messed up that there does not seem to be a lot that can be done!
I know Zetas that are behind hold Hdqt Back from do ing things but let them not forget what the Hell We are Trying to do!
If they over charge the Zetas, whose fault is that?
Ah The age of Computors! Aint it just grand!

Int'l has informed me that they are not holding back any pins or badges, but with chapters owing $1,000 or more, they insist on payment up front so as not to run up the bill.
Sounds logical, but I'm not sure it explains the things I hear from other chapters, or why my own zeta didn't know this.
I'm not out to bash anyone, I just feel very disappointed our guys have gone without their insignia for so long.
As I just wrote back to Int'l, sometimes my passion exceeds my rationality.

Also, folks, just a little suggestion for our treasurers...when you send a check to the HQ, send a note detailing what the payment is for. Otherwise, it just gets credited to your account and not necessarily how you intended it to be used (Associations vs. member dues and insurance).

Eric, very good point!
But when you have 2 Alums contact them and offer to pay for the New Assoc. pins from their own pcket and still have not gotten them then something is very wrong!
I am thinking of Calling Int. and saying here is a credit card # I want X amout of the N A pins ASAP!
These pins are supposed to come out of the N A money sent in to the Int.
Throwing away pins in a ritual ceremony is a crying shame and a waste!
i for one am going to try to put a stop to it at LX Zeta and use Steve Corbin and Matt Troy as a Reference.
Also, to show Brotherhood, We are haveing 30 + New Associates to be Initiated soon and Brother Christian EN, William Jewwel has offered to have some Brothers come down to help us!
I think is a great way for inter Zeta realtionships.
This comes at a time when both Zetas had problems with other Brothers from other Zetas, both EN and LX Zetas!
