Bed Time
Ok, this doesn't have anything to do with greek life, I'm just taking a little survey....what time do you go to bed(like on weekends, and on school nights)! I'm just trying to find this stuff out b/c my parents were having a coronary b/c they said staying up until 2AM will not work in college. Parents just don't understand....lol! thanks in advance for the input!!

As far as bed times. That should vary from person to person. I was known (esp towards the end of my college days) to get by on about 3-6 hrs of sleep during the week days that i took whenever and after a 3-4 am bedtime I never got out of bed before noon (except on football saturdays) on the weekends.
As a college adult you are responsible for your own bedtime and course work. While its important to mix fun and work during those care free college days, don't forget your first responsiblity is to yourself and your school work. Not getting enough sleep and eating badly will result in getting run down and sick (I'll refrain from going into detail about my semester and a half bout of that). Learn time management and you'll be fine for those 2 am "study" parties... err sessions.

going-out nights (fri., sat., sometimes wed.--between 2 and 4am, usually)
normal weeknights--midnight-ish (which is actually early for the average college kid), unless i have something due the next morning!
however, i do take a lot of naps during the day! and sat. and sun. between lunch and dinner is always naptime!

let's see, what time did I go to bed.....anytime between 1am and 3am during the week and goodness knows when on the weekends. Bear in mind that my first class wasn't usually until 10 or 11am (you get to choose your class schedule in college too). I'm a afternoon/night person, so that schedule worked for me. Like Artimis said, learning time management is key to getting through college successfully.

i'm going to put in my opinion, but PLEASE understand that my sleep schedule is NOWHERE near hormal, nor is it particularly healthy...even for a college student.
generally on weeknights i get to be around 2am, maybe 3. i do a lot of writing and my muse generally comes at night. i get up around 8 in the morning for class *taking summer classes...yuck* and sometimes take a nap if i'm not working that day. on weekends, anything goes. i hate sleeping sometimes. but if i have a test or something, i'll study at 2 or 3 in the morning in my bed and everything's always worked out well. but like i said...DON'T USE ME AS A GUIDELINE!! :-)

It depends on what i'm working, but in all actaulity, I Sleep all day and anywere.
My friends always laugh at me for that. I can fall asleep on the phone, in a restaurant and especilly in any nice warm house
I find when school is in session i ussually sleep an average of 5 hours a day
As far as going to sleep at 2 when you are in college, just schedule 12:00 classes as your first ones....lol

Wow. How do you all do it? 5 hours a day. That just is not going to get it for me. I need at least 7. If I get less than 7 total (throughout the day), I am hating everybody.
Now I go to sleep around 1 in the morning, but I can take naps during the day, too. Don't party much so it's rare that I stay up later than that. It's a quarter past midnight (in korea) now!

If I don't get at least 7 hours a night, I don't wake up to my alarm, and I tend to fall asleep in class, worse than usual This coming quarter, I will be done with class by lunch everyday. So I can take a nap after lunch, and even get my homework done early, and still get to bed by a decent hour, midnight

Ok, well, I dont' sleep. Honestly. During my worst spell, taking 18 hours, working full time, and taking full time care of my baby sister, I slept EVERY OTHER NIGHT -- believe it or not. I wasn't the most pleasant person to be around, my concentration was a mess, and I got sick really quickly (always had a cold, headache, stomach upset, little things)
Now, however, I take 12 - 15 hrs and work about 20 - 30 hours per week and participate in extracirrculars and I MUST take time to party (my sister is home with mom now) - I got to bed on weekdays usually around 3am - 5am. Sometimes, though, I don't even touch the bed until it's light outside. Weekends are pretty much the same. But every few days, about once a week, maybe every other week, I just crash and breakdown and sleep for like 13 hours. Yeah, this is not healty at all (we won't even go into my eating habits) - but it works for now.

This is going to sound incredibly abnormal for a university student, but on nights where I have classes the next morning I usually hit the sack between 10:30-11:30. I'm someone who needs AT LEAST 8 hours a night to function. Wednesday night is Greek night at UBC so I'm up til about 1 or 2 (most of the time). Weekends, well on average about 2 or 3am, but I once managed to stay up until 7am When it comes down to it everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another. I study best during the day, so that's why I can go to bed at an earlyish hour.

Hey, it's 6:22 a.m., Tuesday morning, and I just got home from a night at the club and an after party. This is just an example. I try to catch a few hours of sleep. I use this message board to help wind me down to get ready to sleep.

I thought that bumping this thread would be appropriate, seeing as how it is 4:50am.
I usually go to bed around 4 - 5 in the morning and generally wake up around 2 -3 in the afternoon. I have no idea why my sleep schedule is messed up. My schedule has been like this since April/May of this year.

For the past few years I've been falling asleep at 1-2am and I normally wake up around 6am to go running.
My body has gotten used to the lack of sleep...that's why I normally consume about 3-4 cups of coffee a day.
I'm an idiot, I know.

I'm another person that needs at least 7 hours of sleep, preferably 8. In college I always had 8 am classes, so I went to bed anywhere between 10:30 and midnight. It really depended on what was going on with my sorority. On weekends, it varied, but on average I would hit the sack around 1 or 2 am.
Now I'm fresh outta college and in the real world, where I have a job that requires me to show up by 7 am. I go to bed around 10 usually now. On weekends, I go to bed early if I'm not doing anything, and if I DO go out I usually get to bed pretty late BUT, I also have to work every other weekend, so sadly I still have to get to bed early most weekends
