My First Suit

So I had been looking all summer for a nice suit for my upcoming Sigma Alpha events and found nothing

I tried Liz Claiborn, Ann Taylor, JC Penny's, Casual Corner and couldn't find anything I really liked and felt comfortable in.

Today a fellow sister and I decided to go shopping for a suit for me. We weren't coming back to the house without one! Do you feel the determination in this shopping trip?

So I did find a beautiful suit! It's a classic black blazer and pants, to keep the hip and trendy feeling we found a grey shirt with white pin stripes, collar, and cuffs that wraps around and ties on the side. It looks so nice and classy!

We ended up getting it at Marshals wich is like a TJ Max for some who may not have that store. So I hope if any of your newer members are having problems with professional dress, maybe you or their big can take them shopping and help chose some classy professional attire

I can totally sympathize... it took me much effort to find my new suit! For others out there looking, I've had really good luck with Jones New York suits. Lord & Taylor carries them, as well as Hudsons, I think.

Lightbulb For those on a budget...

Ok ladies,
I'll admit it, I'm cheap! Or maybe it's just the rush of finding a great deal on clothing. I've recently started my first position in the "working world" and am required to dress professionally at all times (big yeee haw for Sigma Alpha---all those professional meetings and professional speakers really have been helpful in helping me determine what I should/shouldn't wear to the office).

A couple of suggestions:
*CONSIGNMENT STORES- especially if you live in a town with a large corporate industry, you can find nearly new things at sometimes reasonable prices. Search around and dig- If you are a girl who loves to shop, this is a good way to dig through, and you never know what you might find.

*ROSS- this is kind of like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Again, expect to dig through the racks, but you can find all kinds of clothes there for CHEAP! For example, one of the Alpha Theta girls bought her formal dress at a department store, we found the exact same dress at Marshalls for $20. They also have suits and things.

*Goodwill- We are poor college students, especially in your "nicer" neighborhoods you can find good bargins. I found a Jones New York skirt that had the tags still on it (sales tag: $78.00) and I got it for $3.

Have fun shopping, don't forget it's usually more fun in a group!

hope I could help a lil bit..
*bethie
