A Sorority sweetheart
Do these exist? Can I be one? I want to wear YOUR letters and YOUR pin.

All of the sororities on our campus nominate a fella from each house for their sweetheart (although it's always called something different). AZD has the "Xi Man" for example.

On my campus, none of the 3 sororities have sweethearts. All the frats have there version of sweethearts.. In AST, we can't be sweet hearts though.

In Beta Theta Pi, the only people other than initiated members who can wear the badge is a members' Mother, Sister, Daughter, Wife, or Fiancee...Most chapters tend to shy away from "Sweethearts" as far as I know. I do know that we outlawed "little sister" organizations back in the mid 80s due to questions about ritual secrecey and what not.
Anyway if you want to wear the Diamond and the three stars you'll have to capture the attention of one of my brothers to do so.

I actually was the Alpha Xi Delta Sweetheart for their chapter at my school last year. Yeah, some of their past sweethearts wore their letters on sweatshirts or lavaliers, but I never have. I think it looks a little cheesy. But yes, we do exist and yes, some of them do where their letters.

I was just about to start a topic on this.
Our 'sweetheart' if you will... is a Delta Chi that we picked. We had a lil contest/event for any and all greek and non greek guys that we would nominate ourselves or their brothers nominated and we asked them some questions and voted. In return, he can wear letters... not the big cloth ones, we just gave him a t-shirt at formal. And he can also help with recruitment and whatnot. We just started it this year so things are a lil new. But for now, he is our Chi Delt King and just an all around cheerleader... sorta.
I think Phi Sig does something similar... Mr Phi Significant. I don't know what they do tho.
AXO has Mr Alpha Chi... but I don't think a sweetheart comes from that... I think it is more of just a male pagent/talent competition.

Ours is awesome--we don't have a "sweetheart," we have a Lad of the Lamp!

Do you mean little sisters (who have to pledge) or the individual sweetheart picked yearly? I don't understand why AST wouldn't want women to be a sweetheart...it's a huge honor at most schools and makes the whole chapter look good.
Since one of our symbols was the Phoenix, our sweetheart was called the Phoenix man. We have a Phoenix recognition pin (this can go to anyone who's helped the sorority in a significant way) that he received, but he definitely didn't wear our badge...

I was told that Phi Mu isn't allowed to have a sweetheart, but I know alot of chapters do. I was also told that nationally we're not supposed to be big/lil sisters to fraternity brothers. Who knows?

Aww, that's cute! I wish our chapter did something like that. For a small chapter, we always have parents or alumni who come out and help. But we just send a thank you card... blah.

The sororities here dont use the term sweetheart. The AGD's have alpha gam man, DZ has a big brother, and AEPhi has phi guy. Oh yeah, those three titles are all held by pikes.

Our sweethearts our called Chi Guys... we give them a pair of letters, but instead of the OMega there's an Omicron. They coach football, come to all our events, and we serenade them.... it's fun
