Greetings from Gamma Theta

Greetings Brothers,
We had an awesome semester at Gamma Theta this past fall. This past semester we were busy. We brought across Tom "Bones" Malone from the Tonight Show with David Letterman into our brotherhood. He came down for a gig with the O'Clock. We had an awesome Phi Mu Alpha recital with compositions written by brothers of Gamma Theta. We also participated in the Homecoming activities. Our chapter president, James Mann, at the time represented the fraternity along with Candace Beckstead of Sigma Alpha Iota. We also built a homecoming float. We did a joint project with Sigma Alpha Iota's sisters and put up a living room scene in the back of a trailor hitch. The theme was "There's no place like home". Brother Troy Drayton played the music to "Sweet Home Alabama" on an electric guitar that was getting juice pumped through a converter via the truck. We sang our own lyrics along and created a parody entitled "Sweet Home North Texas".
This semester our social chair, John Kilgore, has organized an intramural basketball team, "The Mystic Cats", that will compete against other fraternities and clubs at UNT. We also have some cool plans for AMR. Some brothers are talking about doing jam session style tunes as well as the classics, jazz, and solos. This semester we will be bringing Dr. Brian Bowman, former USAF Euphonium soloist from the D.C. band, and our Dean Dr. James Scott into the fraternity at our province workshop next weekend. Currently we have about 43 actives and 6 new probes. We love hearing from other chapters and love swapping ideas. Our website is at www.sinfonia.net/gammatheta

Last night I and two other probes were initiated into the Nu Sigma Chapter. There was no officially declared "Super Pledge" (at least so far as I can tell) but my fellow Brothers were proud of all of this with our knowledge and dedication during the probe period. Retreat was great, there was a recital on American music that was good including an original composition by our Chapter President and I definitely can't wait until next semester.

Thumbs up

Congradulations brother drproject!!! The brotherhood is one of the most special things that can ever happen to you in this life...I encourage you to take to heart all of things that you just learned of upon your complete initiation...I won't mention them here because since this is a public chat forum any Joe Schmoe can read what we're saying...I'm sure you get the picture...I will actually be delivering my alumni speech tomorrow...never thought this day would come...remember, "Work for Sinfonia and Sinfonia will work for you"...Fraternally yours in Phi Mu and Alpha, Marc p.s.-Where's the Nu Sigma chapter located?

Well, just thought I'd say that I and three others were brought into the Brotherhood this past Thursday night through the Omicron Epsilon chapter at WCU. This whole semester Sinfonia has helped me feel stronger in some of my own principles of acting and musicianship. The Brothers here are terrific, and out the MENC state convention I had the pleasure of meeting many Brothers from around the state. The first step of my Sinfonian journey may be over, but the path through life is long, and luckily I have many guides and companions to help me.

Welcome New Brothers

Congratulations to djproject, Arkayanon and the other members of their probate classes! Welcome to our new brothers in FMA, true Sinfonians! As Arkayanon said, the first part of the journey is over, but you have a great lifetime in Phi Mu Alpha ahead of you! Take to heart what you learned in your initiation, live our ideals, and you won't go wrong!
