Best Places for Single Folks to Go. . .
This is NOT just for me, but what are good places or types of places to go for people who are single (not necessarily looking for your next mate) and just looking to make new friends.
Being new here in Charlotte, I have not really gone out (clubbing) and most of my new co-workers are married.
What do you suggest single folks do or go to meet new people? What are the places ways to meet new folks outside of the job and the sorority or fraternity?

It's cliche, but
Coffee houses when invited authors read from their work. I went to a reading and there were some fine brothers there, plus, they were there to hear the same author, so I already know we have a common interest.

Happy hours are good,
And they aren't always hosted in clubs or on Fridays.
For example, They have happy hour, at various restaurants here in atlanta, and at Dave and Busters (my favorite Place), Or at sports bars (just to watch the game) I'm not sure if you are a Go alone by yourself, and still have a good time person like I am, But I found places like that better to meet new people, than just clubbing alone.

You know what your grandmother always said....go to church! But I do believe the 'secret', whether married or single, is to not just go, but to get involved. Most large churches have a number of different ministries. Great way to meet people.
Take a class. It can be one geared toward your career or something you are just interested in. I took a continuing education class for people interested in writing a novel and met some interesting people.
Volunteer at some worthwhile organization. Again, you'll met others with similar interests.
On a side note, I drove through Charlotte on Friday with my Family on the way to Virginia Beach and thought about you. I said "HI" from the highway!! LOL

Might sound crazy, butttt...
The grocery store. Maybe it is just from living in a college town, but our local grocery sotre is like the club, lol. I have met many a man while strolling down the cereal aisle, or traipsing round the bakery.
