All universities with formal NPC recruitment should have Rho Chi's. it's part of the NPC recruitment procedures. I don't know of any schools with NPC schools that do it differently, although I would be interested to hear. Rho Chi's are pretty much universal in NPC, from what I know.

My university, UW-W, has Rho-Chi's, I'm applying to be one! I just don't know how long I can stand to be deaffiliated from my sisters!

Rho Chi
I was just wondering if a lot of Universities have Rho Chi's. For those of you who don't know what I Rho Chi is...it's basically the women who are in charge of Formal Recruitment. At my University the Rho Chi's are the Panhellenic Exec board and 20 other women selected from the 7 sororities we have on campus. We have to disassociate from our organizations in order to take a group of rushees through the formal process. We are basically Recruitment Councilors. The reason I'm asking about this is because I am the Rho chi coordinator this year and I was just wanting to see how other Universities did it for ideas, so write and let me know!

At my university, the Rho Chi's are alumnae of the 3 NPC sororities. I don't know how they are chosen, but I am on Panhellenic this year, so I guess I'll find out soon!!!

Because we're the only NPC on campus, we don't have a rho chi. We hold recruitment at the same time the locals do, but we don't have Panhellenic on campus.
Thankfully, I've learned what a rho chi is and she does...and I thank you all for educating me!

I'm a Rho Chi for fall 2001 recruitment. On my campus, the VP Recruitment for PanHel and the Greek Advisor hold interviews and select a few women from each organization who then have training sessions over the summer and deaffiliate in August.

We have Rho Chis here even though we only have 6 sororitys on campus. We are mostly a commuter school so we do things a little differntly, we also dont have houses.
this is because in miami there is this silly law formed a LONNNNNGGG time ago.. where if u have more than 3 women living together its considered a brothel.. we are still fighting for suites at least so we have somewhere to hold meetings and stuff...
anyways my chapter has 6 wonderful women representing us as Rho Chis, one is panhellenic president so she has to dissafiliate anyways, and the rest are great sisters.. i know they will represent us well.
good luck in rush to all of u!

I was a Rho Chi my senior year, and it was a wonderful experience. I got to meet a lot of girls from other sororites, which normally is not all that easy at a school my size. It was hard being disaffiliated, but I survived and would never trade the experience for anything...it actually has done alot (including being in a sorority) to help with my career...ie. working with different kinds of personalities, backgrounds, opinions.

I can't do it this fall because I'm currently an officer in my sorority, but I'm thinking about doing it in the spring. It'll be hard to deaffiliate myself though!
