Question Rush Infractions

I go to a large University now, and I went through formal rush in the fall, and got a bid but dropped out before I was initiated. I'm not really enjoying college as much as I should. My mom says that everyone has problems adjusting thier freshman year. I have a few houses here that I like so I think I might do COB next fall.
My best friend goes to a smaller school near-by, and I have the best time when I visit her, I'm even kind of dating a guy from her school. When I visit I stay at her sorority house.
I was thinking about transferring to her school. She said if I'm thinking of transfering, I can't stay with her anymore because it's a rush infraction. Like her house is recruting me. Her university only has 3 sororities, so I know girls in all 3 and I like my friend's house the best.
If I can't stay with her when I visit, then I have no were to stay.
I don't know what to do. I understand why the rule is, but I also think that my situation is different, and in my situation, the rule is stupid.
I don't even know if I'm going to transfer, but I was just wondering if the rule is true, and what I should do.

If i were you, I would look at more reasons to transfer or stay than just the sorority. Does the sorority your friend is in have a chapter at your school?

Julie Baby! (sorry, I just had to do that)

Transferring: write down the pros and cons of each school and then make your decision. You might love the social life at your friend's school but the academics for your major might not be there. Talk it over with your parents.

Infraction: I don't think it would be an infraction until you actually applied and were accepted. Just because you're thinking of transferring - I mean, how can they be held accountable for what goes on it your head?

GREAT BIG KUDOS to your friend for looking out for her sorority and for you!!

Thanks for all the advice. I've talked to my parents and they will back me in any choice I make. I've also talked to some of my friends here and I think I'm going to stay here and try rush again. They do have my friend's house here Billy, but the girls are totally different at this chapter. I get along with girls from a few other chapters better.

I do have another question though.

Like I said, I rushed at this school, but didn't join. I don't know what to do next fall. I hated formal rush! I felt like girls were being so fake in most of the houses and that almost caused me to be fake too. I felt comfortable in a few houses and those are the houses that I'm still interested in. I'm also afraid that if I do formal rush it will be weird when I go back to the house I got a bid from. Should I just do COB?
